"Mathers does not condone the type of behavior on his albums nor has he stated the same....."

Bullshit.

But I don't wanna argue about it. You have your opinion and I have mine. Music is, or at least used to be, art. There is nothing artistic about Marshall Mathers. Any public school educated shithead off of the street would be able to reproduce his efforts.

Anyway, we shouldn't be giving this psychotic little puke the keyboard time here at FR. He ain't worth it......

I don't listen to rap because, though it may be some type of street art, it ain't music.

I caught a bit of "Saturday Night Live" last week just in time to hear Eminem.
I neither got, nor enjoyed it.
I especially didn't get it, when a few minutes later,
the Update News Anchor broke into some rap song about Kirsten Dunst
that was superior to Eminem's song in every way.

When a parody is better than the original....it ain't art.

The best thing to do about Mr. Mathers is ignore him. His fame is fed off controversy. And comments like Mrs. Cheney's are his bread and butter. If you want to wind up in an M&M song. Then become a famous public person and diss him.

I listen to M&M and I have downloaded all his stuff from the internet. If rap is a music or art form, then he is absolutely the best at it. He makes most all the black rappers look repetitive, unimaginative, and untaleneted. Don't underestimate his ability. In fact, if you think "any sh*thead can do it" then try it yourself, and you will be sorely disappointed.

In case you feel bad, remember, the left hates him even more than you. He insults homosexuals a lot more than he has the Cheneys.

Yes, because then you might have to have some idea what you're talking about.

Do you understand the concept of narrative? Saying that Mathers advocates putting your girlfriend in a truink and driving off a bridge is akin to saying George Lucas advocates exploding inhabited planets with man-made satellites or John advocates war, pestilence, famine and death being spread over the Earth.

I don't get Eminem either, but I wouldn't say there isn't anything artistic about him. That's what they said about Elvis, The Beatles, and pretty much every other pop star who came along and challenged the morals of the previous generation. People who listen to and produce a lot of hip-hop almost to a person agree that Eminem is one of the best out there. I see no reason not to believe them.
