A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 5/15 and 5/16/02

This is a special double-edition daily dose due to FR being down yesterday...

President Bush and his administration were in the defensive today as Democrats and the media swarmed around revelations that the President was given a general warning about possible hijackings before September 11th. It was revealed later in the day that the very same Democrats leading the negative charge, Tom Daschle and Dick Gephardt, also knew of the briefings yet failed to let the media know. By the end of the day, it was the Republicans in Congress leading the charge and taking the Democrats to task for their usual games of partisan slander.

This afternoon, in a move to give the public more knowledge on the exact nature of the briefings, National Security Advisor Condoleezza Rice confronted the media with detailed national security intelligence in the months leading up to September 11th. It was made clear that the intelligence briefings given to the President were not specific or detailed enough to prevent the suicide bomber attacks.

In much lighter news, the President began the day at the First Annual National Hispanic Prayer Breakfast. Later he presented the Congressional Gold Medal to President Ronald Reagan and his wife, Nancy.

My statement containd no words that I had not learned by the 7th grade.

You are the master; we but the lame brains. You were probably able to read The Seven Pillars of Wisdom without a dictionary while in junior high school.

Thank you so much for conveying to our President that you and many of us are indeed praying for him and his family.

I am so glad you had this wonderful chance to see him.

CNN parading the spouses and siblings of the victims of 9/11 and proclaiming, "this is Bush's fault."

New York City is heavily liberal Democrat and I'm certain there are relatives of victims who are rabid liberal Democrats and would be happy to say anything requested to denigrate the President. That is a fact of life.

We may rejoice that CNN's ratings seem to be inversely proportional to their anti-American and liberal bias.

The first thought that comes to my mind is that video of the interview of the President a day or so after 9/11 when he tears up and says that he's a sensitive guy but that he's got a job to do and he's going to do it. No one (of sound mind) seeing that video can honestly say that a man who obviously cares that much would have callously ignored specific warnings he had!

And no one who sees him get teary-eyed at the end of many of his speeches when he talks about what a great country we live in would believe that he's capable of the dastardly act of which the slime accuse him!

The media and the other liberals are totally, utterly, completely despicable and disgusting!!!!!!!

CyberAnt, I hope you're right about regaining the Senate. I will never understand how conservative South Dakota keeps re-electing Daschle. Perhaps if he continues with his below the belt political tactics against the President the voters in SD will rethink his relevancy when he comes up for re-election. Bush is extremely popular there, and I hope the SD GOP spin machine keeps his constituency informed on his obstructionist, irresponsible behavior in Washington.

What a dear and precious man he is. He truly loves people and it shows on his face when he talks to them. People can't help but be touched by his compassion and generous spirit. God bless our President! Give Him wisdom, Lord, and protect Him from all the evil that surrounds him and the office of the presidency.

Thank you so much for your compliment, but that truly sums up how I feel.

One of the moms at baseball practice today said that "a friend of her husbands said that Bush knew ahead of time and let it happen to boost the economy".... eeeeeekkkkk, and people repeat this crap!!! I looked at her and said, who is his friend NOSTRADOMUS (sp?)? Please it is obvious this man needs to get his facts straight because this DID NOT boost the economy, it literally helped caused permanant injury to the airline industry (except Southwest, my employer) and the stock market has never really picked back up. I wonder if he could answer to that? She just looked at me.

grrrrrrrrr people will hear this and believe it and repeat it and never investigate it. It takes too much of their time. I plan on getting back to her on this on game day. heheh I am NOT through with her yet.

Oh, DrDeb, you are SOOOOO lucky, no, blessed, to have been able to tell him that and to get such a loving response. I'm part of the Presidential Prayer Team as well, although not as faithful as I ought to be. Thanks for reminding me to keep on praying for this godly example we have in the White House. I don't have to call it the Whore House any longer! xxxMaryxxx
