I know a man who attended the 1960 inaugural and met her. Said she was as cold as a fish. Liked Ethel though.
This is so interesting what you wrote and it caught my eye because just today I was listening to Bob Brinker, the financial expert on the radio. He had a listener call in who was talking about last fall right after 9-11 when there were some reports about airline stocks being shorted not long before the attacks, and how some people made a ton of money when the stocks fell after 9-11.
And the caller was saying how we soon heard nothing more about whether the FBI or whoever was to investigate that, ever found out who was shorting those stocks. Then the caller said maybe they found out who did it, but they couldn't reveal it because it was people in our government.
And then your comment really caught my eye. Hmmm...makes me wonder just who WAS taking advantage of our vulnerability.
gasp! You have more than one *trash* can?! We have recycle pickup every 2 weeks...my recycle bin is filled using precision for best load factor. Trash is picked up weekly and my trash can is maybe 1/3 full...and it's a small trash container. So there. ppffggbbbbttttttt!
Lunch on Saturday, June 29, would be a delight. Where will you be during the lunch break? We can make arrangements via FReepmail; I do believe it is going to work out.
A few weeks ago I was slammed with a lot of junk mail from people I don't know, each one with an attachment for an executable file, a screen saver, etc., any of which could carry a virus and almost certainly did. I have two features on my Email that really help; one allows me to be unable to open mail / attachments that could contain a virus; I turned that feature on while getting this junk in case I accidentally hit a wrong key while deleting it. The other allows me to "Block Sender," to keep the offenders from repeating their tricks. I have anti-virus protection but I much prefer that first-line defense.
I have friends who have gotten Emails with links to web sites that, when clicked, take them to sites that are infected, so that just clicking the web link infects their PC. So I am careful even about which links I will visit.
I totally LOL [and then cheered to my TV set] when he was asked by Tony Snow about specific people and Cheney came forth with "Cynthia McKinney".
I'd say for everyone to have a really good anti-virus program, get their updates REGULARLY, and delete away if you don't know the sender. I've even deleted stuff that's from people I know, if it's an attachment. Heck, I've gotten viruses that DON'T HAVE attachments.....
I could personally think of much better things to do with your time than be this rotten. But then...
