As the author of the reference in this thread to the Maryland land terrapin, I now withdraw that. I now think the Man with the Dog was looking for very much what he did find, and told the DCPolice what he had found, just in case they missed it.

I am also warning all that I hear the approaching footsteps of a Lee Harvey McVeigh, in this supposed park stalker. His victims were along established jogging trails, none remotely in sight of where Chandra was found. He didn't even hurt his victims seriously, much less kill them; nor did he rob them, but in DC it can actually HELP a defendant's case if he claims robbery was the motive. Nor is there any reason to think he appeared on the scene until AFTER Chandra was already dead.

According to info on another thread, they used a dog to trace her from the apartment...the trail ended at the corner of her street, which means she got into a vehicle.

I think it was openly said by Gainer that no searches had covered this area, none had gone further north than the mansion...

I think you are right. HE tried to push the train trip. Seems that i read that he had tried to push the train trip at the start of the investigationto the DCPD.Thats how it came up in the interview.

First of all, he had no idea that her parents would make this a cause celebre.

With their pushing this into the spotlight, the public interest increased, witnesses were able to feel safe enough to come forward, his lies, seemingly innocent at the time, become an obvious attempt at alibi-building.

But in an interview yesterday, Executive Assistant Police Chief Terrance W. Gainer said that searchers did not penetrate to the spot where Levy was found. Common practice is to scour as far as 100 yards from paths, parking lots and picnic areas, Gainer said, and Levy's body turned out to be in a gap between two probes, one coming from the west and one from the east.

The Washington Post also mentioned that a local news station reported the Chandra had been tied up. This was neither confirmed nor denied by the police.

A power grab for the Senate. Jeffers changed parties. No one knows for sure why except Daschle. They couldn't afford to get rid of Condit and risk loosing the Majority in the Senate. Lawyers says other government officials may be involved with Condit and his double live. If Gephardt removed Condit from office that would make Condit fair game and Condit could very well bring down may of his buddies in congress.

My vote is incompetence. After nearly 20 years of life under crack head Mayor Marion Barry the DCPD was pretty much ruined.

Smith's lawyer says other member of congress may be involved. Condit could more than likely bring many members of Congress down with him. The Big question, how did Gephardt get away with putting Condit on Homeland Security? The Levy family has a Clinton lawyer and you know how that goes. The Levy family had to call for Gephardt and Daschle to remove Condit or resign and they are within their rights to call for Gephardt and Daschle to resign if Condit is not removed and brought in for questioning. The Levy family needs to take a strong stand for the removal and questioning of Gary Condit, not only for their daughter but also for the security of this country. The Levy family needs to say the Hell with that lawyer and DEMAND justice. I thought for sure the Levy family would show some sort of outrage,now that they found the body of their daughter. The Levy family has the upper hand because Gephardt and Daschle do not want to do anything that will upset the apple cart for the next election. Knock down Gephardt's door if they have to and demand answers. Once Gephardt is on the run the news media will hound him like a pack of dogs. Gephardt will stop protecting Condit unless Gephardt is very much involved, even if it's just knowledge of her death. The power grab for the Senate is more important than the death of an American citizen. The law says covering up for a crime makes that person as guilty as the party that committed the crime. If Condit is guilty than Gephardt and Daschle belong behind bars.
