Why not? Planting the walkman and the clothes would make it look like a local thug nabbed her from a jogging trail and draw attention away from more insidious possibilites.

Has anyone mentioned the fact that her signet ring with a diamond was at the site? Had it been a rape/robbery, wouldn't the perp have taken it? No mention of her keys being found, which she supposedly took with her. Why would a killer take her keys and not her ring?
