A preliminary Google search yielded lots of Brunei-California connections, which of course would not necessarily be that unusual, since California attracts a lot of overseas investment.

Do you know if this Burkle person has a brother or son who is in Asian investments? A Dr. Fred Burkle keeps popping up. It could be a coincidental name, but I thought I would ask.

Hammer them home to rank and file blue collar union guys. The Reagan coalition can be revived.

*pinged* summer for her imput. She is an expect on weaning union members away from extreme liberalism.

"Roger Salazar, Davis' spokesman, said the criticism was unfair.

"We're getting to the point where you can't know the governor and do business in California -- then somehow, that's tainted," he said.

...and why is that Roger? Could it be due to any unsavory pattern of behavior on the part of the governor since he's been in office, hmmmm?

The fact is that Davis has demonstrated very clearly that if you have monetary ties to him or his campaign, you will benefit financially at the expense of California's taxpayers. He deserves the criticism.

Thank you, LarryLied, but frankly, I am just learning as I go here! However, should a brilliant idea fall out of the sky and strike me, I will certainly let you know. :)

Wonder why Burkle went on a Commerce trip with Ron Brown to South Africa. Immediately after that is when his political activity heated-up.

Here ia one of the articles about Yucaipa Co. hiring Clinton in April, after California had already decided to invest $560 million with Burkle. Now, it looks like CalPERS is investing $700 million.

Judicial Watch Cries Foul Over Clinton Hire
Newsmax.com | April 13, 2002 | Newsmax.com
Posted on 4/13/02 11:34 AM Pacific by HoustonKevin

"Notwithstanding the fact that he shouldn't have his hands on (pension fund money) because he's a criminal - the fact is, Clinton has no experience in investment advice," noted Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman. "So, what is he doing there?"

The watchdog group announced Friday that it would commence an investigation into the questionable hire, noting that Yucaipa is owned by Clinton mega-donor Ron Burkle.

"Burkle has a long, sordid history with the Clinton fundraising machine," a JW press release issued Friday contended.

"He attended a trade mission to South Africa with the late Ron Brown in 1993..... Burkle also participated in an illegal Clinton White House coffee fundraiser and 'participated' in Clinton’s sleepover fundraising program run mainly out of the Lincoln Bedroom. Like Denise Rich, Burkle is a major donor to the Clinton Library, having donated in the neighborhood of $5 million to $10 million."
...
Klayman and Fitton contend that by hiring Clinton, Burkle may be in violation of his fiduciary responsibility to California retirees because of Yucaipa's association with CalPERS.

Larry posted, Wonder why Burkle went on a Commerce trip with Ron Brown to South Africa. Immediately after that is when his political activity heated-up.

Now, now, you know that his trip with Ron Brown and the zillions funneled into the Clintoons and the Rats and Davis had nothing to do with his increased political activity.

Besides that is old news like the Death of Chandra Levy.

Comments like yours never feed a starving chile nor enable new Hate Crime Legislation to come forward.

Thanks for reposting this.

However, you must remember when it comes to the super rich elite Fascists of the Rat Party, the Goron told us why they have no problems with these actions.

The Goron, when caught in the fund raising mess of with the Buddist Nuns told us the reality when it comes to the Elite Fascists of the Rats, THERE IS NO CONTROLLING LEGAL AUTHORITY!

I'm sure that Adolph and Benito, the role models for the Clintoon and Davis, said the same thing in Germany and Italy until they came to the end of their rope.

You're not actually suggesting that Ron Browm misued his government
position to {{gasp}} raise money for the Dems, are you? (/sarcasm off).
