A State Department official in Washington yesterday said the deal did not require U.S. and British monitors to be at the site all the time. Their only responsibility is to "verify the detention under appropriate conditions of the six and report to the Israeli government and the Palestinian Authority," With the area surrounded by Israeli troops, perhaps the only thing required to confine these men was to whisper in their ear - "try to escape and you'll be blown away!" Such a subtle reminder should be sufficient.

Why does the US State Dept. defend and harbour terrorists?

"A few young men, towels slung over their shoulders, walked..."What? They've made them stop wearing them on their heads?
