Sounds like they stumbled upon a drug deal.

"...planned to intreview the victims WHEN they returned to Mexico."
How about IF they return to Mexico (I'm a cynic).

Three of the immigrants remained hospitalized Friday afternoon, including two who had been taken by helicopter to San Diego because of the severity of their injuries, ... And the already overburdened U.S. healthcare system is going to bear the cost of their medical care.

Sounds like it could be a set-up for a lawsuit against the USA. They might claim it was USA firing on them. $$$$$$$$$

This is - at least - the second incident in a month in which Mexican military crossed the border and fired inside the U.S. (last time was at a Border Patrol agent in his marked car).
Demand that Jorge Bush get our army off of guarding borders between former YugoNam "republics" and put it down there to protect us from invasion. And if he won't do that, demand his impeachment.

These are not immagrants they are illegal alians or illegals mexicans not immagrants they have not been immagranted they are no more than border invaders.

...his agency had received a report that the Mexican Army was involved in the shooting...It certainly wasn't the U.S. Army.

Three of the immigrants remained hospitalized Friday afternoon, including two who had been taken by helicopter to San Diego because of the severity of their injuries, said Border Patrol Agent Dionicio Delgado.Great, so the American taxpayer gets stuck with the medical bills. These injured illegal aliens should have been flown or driven to a Tijuana hospital for treatment.

The last time I looked immigarnts are in general legal in status having been given appropiate visas to enter the country.
These people are ILLEGAL and ALIENS NOT immigrants.
Calling these people immigrants demeans all those who have to wait years through the legal process so they can enter the country and settle here legaly so that their children can become americanized and integrate into society.

"They were in a panic," Garcia said. "Thank God the Border Patrol was so close." Illegal aliens and our Border Patrol is the hero in the story.

Strange article. Doesn't make a great deal sense on the surface.
There are only two logical reason for Mexican troops to fire on a vehicle going north.
First, the Mexicans mistook the vehicle for a US Boarder Patrol vehicle that had strayed into Mexico.
Second, and more likely, an internal dispute over "fees" between the Mexican Army and a local coyote.

U.S. authorities have contacted the Mexican attorney general's office to request assistance with the investigation, he said.
Given the circumstances, I see no need for an investigation..
Same goes for ports, the canadian border.. all of it.

...it may have been a Mexican military unit that fired on the SUV in Mexico...I myself am OFTEN tempted to fire upon Stupid Useless Vehicles. Especially when driven by cellphone-yacking soccer moms. Only the lack of large caliber automatic weapons prevents me.

A short lime later, they were hit with the first burst of gunfire. Apparently they all stopped for a Corona before continuing their skirmish. It's a Mexican thing, like the siesta.

Sounds to me like some patriots are taking matters into their own hands down there.
