Do you know what the commercials strike did to the economy in Los Angeles? Do you know what ripple effects it had elsewhere?
Michael Eisner could care less that his films are made in California. The 50,000 or so working actors and the hundreds of thousands of other support personnel care very much if production leaves the state.
And yes, if these people don't pay their mortgage, car payment, and credit card bill it has an effect on everybody else.
