This is great stuff. I'm pinging Floridians because we should support this movement in any way we can.

I know I'll be attending any events in my area. Anyone interested in showing up for any events planned FReepmail me and I'll add you to notify list.

Thanks for the formatted ping list summer ;).

I can't believe you actually live in this state and have been on this forum for as long as you have yet posted your #19.

I don't know where you live but in my area the enviral orgs and our facist gov agencies have turned property owners into property stewards beholden to them. They're using our tax money against us to sue, condemn land and promote leftist agendas, not to mangage water or protect the environment as it was fraudulantly sold to the public.

I could tell you lots of first hand stories of mini-tyrants at work in my area but that might negatively affect your golf game.

Give us facts, and incidents you are aware of. While I want government to stop it's land grab as a long time Florida resident I am concerned with the restoration of the Everglades. It is a river and our water source. When the GREEDY LAND DEVELOPERS get through converting the Everglades into bedroom and retirement communities coast to coast it will be too late to save the Everglades and our River of Life.

What measures has Governor Bush put into effect to help the Everglades?

Why don't you ping Summer to this thread. I would imagine she would be a great source of information about what measures the Governor(Bush) has enacted to help restore the Everglades. The Everglades and it's restoration are important to all Floridians. Federal Government land grabs are not.

I remember when communities stopped just past Plantation and resumed just east of Ft. Meyers. Now it is almost coast to coast housed. Not a good thing.

Sorry sir, I disrespectfully disagree. When this amendment was presented, at no part did it state nor infer that 90% of the land would be re-acquired by the state and federal governments. I'm a Florida resident and voted against this proposal because it was too vague. Now that the true intent is known, do you honestly think the trailer park bats who retired thinking they would live their remaining years out in peace would have voted for something which could cost them their homes? This is typical socialist deception, and if you support it, you show your true colors.

Bunk. Florida is still over 70% undeveloped and won't develop at much more than a 4% pace per 10-20 year period (that's Jeb's figures, not mine). The Kissimmee River project with Jeb's support and the Army Corp. of Engineers will correct most of the problems in the Everglades and the lake. If you think a land grab by the state is ok, why don't you start by giving up your home as a wildlife habitat? Because under the rules these people (envirosocialists) are playing by, every square inch of this nation should be returned to its' natural state.

But, you know, I would prefer not getting pinged about this protest as I think I made myself clear - you are protesting the wrong topic, IMO. Good luck to you though.

LOl...thanks, but there is another thread and another thread and another thread, and I have been through this -- I think FL needs the water provided by the Everglades Restoration. AAABEST and Henry Lamb say the h*ll with everyone else in SW FL, these people, drought or no drought, are staying put in their homes. GOod luck is all I can say, since the rest of the county and the state wants the water, and the got has ever right to take private property and get the water to the people. Had this group decided to protest the fact they may lose so much money that they can not stay in the community, I would have supported them, and I think Gov Bush would be interested too, but that is my opinion and not a fact. However, my repeated posts fell on deaf ears and earned me some nasty comments. No problem. I tried. Good luck!

AAABEST, I have to LOL at how you replied to max61 here in your post #25.

FYI, max61 has, whenever he does post, criticized Gov Jeb Bush on just about everything I ever posted.

Believe me, he is not a big pro-Jeb fan nor a big got fan!!!!

LOL...no offense to you, max; I always enjoy your posts, even though I have yet to see you say anything nice about Gov Bush (except maybe here). :)

PS AAAABEST, if you get this type of reaction from Collier County citizens who are far more interested in their water than in your house, somewhat like you just got from max61, I promise I will not say "I told you so" -- but, I did. And, I told you what would have been a potentially winning public relations forumula. Instead, you are bent on going down a losing road. No problem, Again, good luck and don't ping me on your sad journey to nowhere.

Do you have any figures to back up your hysterical claimis? Because the research I have read says FL has more privately owneds land than anywhere else in this country. Furthermore, Gov. Bush signed a new law to keep it that way. You and others like you do a lot of damage to a cause that can be valid and just, because you think every situation fits into your hysteria. It doesn't.

AAABEST, Read Henry Lamb's post #82 in his reply to countrydummy on this thread (which is the same threead that is reposted here).

I guess the reason you never posted again on this thread is because you can't stand the fact that in private -- though not in his ranting public articles -- even Henry Lamb agrees the govt has a legal right to condemnation, something you slammed me for saying.

Well, go ahead and slam him too, just like you did me. Click HERE and see post #82 from Henry Lamb.

I am not in favor of land grabs. However, it is time to put the lid on runaway land developement by Land Developers, who care nothing for the Evergaldes and the fact that IT IS our Water supply, and IS the original natural enviornment of Florida, from coast to coast.

These developers are simply chasing big dollars with complete disregard for the quality of life in the over developed areas. It has always been so, and because of big dollars passing hands surreptitiously to less than honest local and state policians, is largely successfull in overdevelopement and ruinous in it's results.

You can scream BUNK all you want, but that doesn't change any of the facts about the Everglades and its relation to the Florida lifestyle we all enjoy, at least for the present.

Defeating the Federal land grabbers does not mean protecting these land developers from enviormental responsibility, by law when necessary!

So that I don't need to go back to the thread right now, do you recall if there's a web site for the Sawgrass Rebellion? That would be one way to measure their progress fighting for property rights and keeping track of ACTIVITIES in our locations. Regards, FV

Other projects throughout the state, especially in the Jacksonville area, and the central part of the state, have acquired land for wilderness corridors and additional core wilderness (green) areas.

The beautiful green spaces of Jacksonville are one of the things I love about this town. To my knowledge, not one citizen had his/her land "snatched" to make it possible.

Several hundred acres were donated by individuals who don't want Jax to end up like Houston, TX, asphalt and concrete as far as the eye can see. The large number of trees and green spaces also give Jax the clean air we all enjoy.

I was all ready to jump on the bandwagon, on another thread, but now I'm not so sure. Your alarmist phrases have me wondering - what is this really about?

There's a site at http://sawgrass.freedom.org.

I would love to see Florida FReepers stay in touch regarding the activities of this group.
