DC Patriots Rally Counterprotest begins at 9 a.m. today We have a Freeper volunteer -- Pippin -- who will take reports live from the field and post them on Free Republic for us. So look to this thread for live updates of what is going on in DC. The updates should start around 9 a.m.

Looks like MSNBC is going to have a live report on the Rally later in the hour. If the headlines came in the same order as the full pieces, the rally will be last... nearer to 11:00 EST

From FTH in DC. Everyone is there, they just finished saying the pledge of alliegiance. Curtis Sliwa (spelling?) of the Guardian Angels are there. All speakers showed up. It's a cold but a beautiful day. No "lefties" infiltrating "YET". All is well. Lot's of News cameras and trucks up. FOX NEWS might be there. but channel 4 and channel 9 news is there.

Good idea, this one from me.

Better, but not good enough. Take it from someone that used to have to deal with the incoming email to a certain network's news shows' inboxes. (Nobody's going to probably look at that FRIENDS email account now until Monday at the earliest.) If you really want them to know, you need to get a producer on the phone, and do it well ahead of time. At least hours in advance, preferably days.

FOX lurks at FR all the time.

No, they don't. There IS NO "FOX." "FOX" is a trademark name for an inanimate object, a company composed of hundreds of PEOPLE. Some human beings that work for Fox lurk on FR. Not all of them are looking for stories, and not all of them rank high enough to order a story up even if they do find one here. And almost all of the work for individual departments or programs more than they work for "FOX". If someone that works for "Studio B" sees something interesting on FR, they're not going to hand it over to O'Reilly or Fox & Friends, they're going to keep it for Shepard Smith.

The networks are not monoliths. PERIOD.

Unfortunately, my connections are not with Fox at all. I wish they were. (I wish I worked there!) They're with *cough*CNN*cough* and *cough*ABC*cough*, and only the weekday people at that. I just know how the sausage is made. :)

WOW! YES, that is an AWESOME link! That's the first time I've seen one of those online lists or databases that gives you actual newsroom phone numbers and addresses, not just the number of the main operators (well, at least partially; there are some holes in it). Thank you for alerting me to that, and yes, you should use it!
