Ad-Hoc Religion Forum Committee Discussion - Thread 3
3/27/02 | angelo

Posted on 03/27/2002 10:38:26 AM PST by malakhi

I've reviewed the critiques and suggestions from Thread 2, have incorporated those I could, and have come up with the following Topic list. One point that was questioned by a number of people were the names of the Denominational Topics categories. I have tried to stay with names that are in common use, and/or are preferred by members of those groups. If you suggested a change here and I did not put it in place, that is probably why.

What I would like to do is to have all interested parties vote a straight up or down on the topics as they stand. If over half of the voters oppose the present list, then we'll reopen it for further changes. If the majority is in favor of the present list, then this is what we'll go with. Keep in mind that additions to the list are always possible down the road.

I will be offline from sunset tonight until Saturday night for the first two days of Passover and then for Shabbat. That will give everyone a chance to weigh in and vote. I'll tally the votes Saturday night, and let Jim Robinson know the results.

Thanks for your participation and the many great suggestions!

See the context here. You were calling me and patent and Fathe-Elijah [nazi] stormtroopers,

Actually I never used the term about father..I said he was calling them out..1) the thought of the nazies never entered my head 2)I did not know Fathers history..It was some lousy humor I admit....

Now you can call me a liar if you choose ,but God knows the truth in this...I did not apologize because I intended no harm to the father. I am sorry he mistook what I said as intending harm...but one thing you should know about me Brian is I am truthful..and you should also know from past conversations I try to be respectful ..I have avoided conversations with you at your request..

If someone had FRmailed me and told me fathers history I would have written to him.....but instead the army came out in force..

I have seen you on many threads mom and I think your religion is Mormon bashing

My religion or me? I ask lots of questions. If you believe it you should be glad for an opportunity to explain it.

Dear BigMack,

I will pray intensely for you to receive God's richest blessings and most tender mercies.

May our divine Saviour who took on human flesh and died upon the cross to take away the sins of the world pour out upon you his peace and power that you may grow day by day into his likeness and stature.

Regards,
Elijah+

These have no place in legitimate civil debate here. And these senseless insults, bigotry, and slurs are the reason the "abuse button" is necessary, and why some have been, justly, banned.

How about foul language and cursing?..........I guess it just depend who's mouth they come from huh?

Trust this, if Bible-believing Christians do not wake up and fight with their spiritual weapons against this growing ecumenical monster, we who today live in countries which allow freedom of religious worship could within one generation find ourselves, or at least our children, in bondage to a world church headed by the Roman pope.

Pray..

Dear elijah,

I will pray intensely for you to receive God's FREE GIFT of salvation to be saved through personal faith in and relationship with Christ ALONE apart from baptism and the other sacraments.

May our divine Saviour who took on human flesh and died upon the cross to take away the sins of the world open your heart.

Regards,

BigMack

Father Elijah prays an unqualified blessing on you, and you respond with this class-less post. You are doing a great job of directing people into the Catholic Church.

Dear BigMack,

Thank you for the vow of prayer for me. I already have an intensely personal faith and relationship with Jesus that has been deepened, enriched, renewed and sustained by the gift of the sacraments, His Word written, and by fellowship in his Holy Church. I would never want to be apart from the rich gifts of grace Our Lord Jesus Christ imparts.

May our divine Saviour who took on human flesh and died upon the cross to take away the sins of the world open your heart.

Yes and Amen to that. Pray that Jesus may open my heart to love you with the love He has for you.

In Christ,
elijah+

That was no blessing. It was a parody of Father Elijah's post. But your defense of it is expected and noted.

It was a prayer of hope for Elijah.

You are doing a great job of directing people into the Catholic Church.

If I throw a stick, will you leave?

No, but it would be more honest of you to do so.

Instead of your games, here is a prayer of value:

O my Jesus, forgive us our sins
save us from the fires of hell
lead all souls to heaven
especially those in most need of thy mercy.
Amen.

How about

Jesus I know that I am a sinner. I believe that you died on the cross for MY sin.I believe you paid a price I could never pay,and that if I were the only one ever born You still would have died just for me. I confess my sin and turn from that sin..I ask you now to forgive me . I thank you for dying for my sins and being my Savior. I give you my Life!

this is my third attempt to post this subject to this thread - for some reason, anything I have titled directly to Ma seems not to post. So here goes

RNmomof7 states: I ask lots of questions. If you believe it you should be glad for an opportunity to explain it.

The please Biblically respond to my questions.

(1) Can John Calvin be Scripturally justified for murdering Michael Servetus?

(2) Does a murderous hate, according to Scripture, render one spiritually unable to accurately interpret the Scriptures?

(3) Can a murderer be saved according to Rev. 21:8 & 1Jn3:10?

Before you target my post as hateful, consider that"I ask lots of questions. If you believe it you should be glad for an opportunity to explain it"
