Israeli operation in Qalqilyah foils series of skyscraper attacks

Israeli military sources said Sunday that the IDF's operations in Qalqilyah on Saturday prevented one of the largest terror attacks seen in Israel.

The sources said that the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) planned to detonate huge explosive devices underneath at least one skyscraper in the center of Israel.

The Shin Bet security service received information regarding a planned attack by the PFLP, and Israeli forces subsequently entered Qalqilyah, where they operated for over 24 hours.

During the operation, two wanted terrorists were arrested. One of those detained was Mussa Ibrahim Nazal, 33, the head of the PFLP, in the city, who Israel claims was behind the suicide bombing at Karnei Shomron two months ago.

IDF sources also reported that they had discovered a booby-trapped car carrying a large explosive load, which they suspected was intended for use in a bombing in Tel Aviv.

In addition, 20 other Palestinians were detained for questioning, nine of whom were later released. Most of those held belong to the PFLP, and some of them were planning suicide attacks. One admitted to planning an attack at the nearby Nir Eliahu.

The IDF operation in the city uncovered three bomb-making factories, from which soldiers confiscated explosive belts, pipe bombs and hand grenades. IDF sappers detonated all of the devices.

Jordanian infiltrator arrested
IDF forces arrested an armed Palestinian in the early hours of Sunday morning, close to the Argeman settlement in the Jordan Valley.

At around midnight Saturday, security forces identified an attempted infiltration on the Jordan border, and a large number of soldiers was brought in to comb the area. After locating the terrorist, soldiers opened fire, injuring the attacker, who was transferred to hospital for treatment.

I would train all our long range missiles on every flea bitten country in the Mideast, tell them they have a month to get their flea bitten terrorist population under control, even it that means taking out over half of their own citizenry, get those ratty Palestinians out of Israel, the oil supply had best not decrease by a single drop, and that they should accomplish all of this with a big friendly smile on their faces.

He's full of it. Mecca is the geographical center of Islam, and it is FORBIDDEN, UNDER PENALTY OF DEATH, for any non-Muslims to go there. Mecca should be a target.

Where did you come up with this. I believe you are confusing the Kabah the Black Stome which is the focus of the Haj with the MAQAM IBRAHIM the step-stone used by Prophet Ibrahim during the original construction of the Kabah. The stone carries the imprints of his feet, and is housed in a glass enclosure on the north side of the Kabah.

The Kabah is dedicated to the Moon God Allah. Its origins pre-date the Muslim era and it was a Cultic shrine even in Mohammed's time and the people of Mecca had a thriving tourist industry for pilgrims to the over 300 gods which were worshipped there. It was only 2 years before Mohammed's death in 630 ce, that the Moslems took control of Mecca and cleansed the Kabah, establishing it as the center for worship of Allah.
