One thing I never get is how bad it was for those millions of people who died. Jesus did not come to save them. What makes you think this will be different? Because maybe hundreds of millions if not billions of people will be slaughtered? How many years of suffering will we have to endure before Jesus returns? Just curious.

Well, Revelation says 1/3 of the people must die, so as horrible as what the Nazis, Soviets, Japanese, Maoists, and other mass-murdering governments have done, it doesn’t rise to the level of the multibillion carnage—that can only come from worldwide atomic warfare, or some later unimaginable technology.

Yes he did, over two thousand years ago he died to save them not in this life (which is short and temporary) but in the hereafter which is eternal.
