"I stopped watching it some time ago," the ex-network news boss writes in today's Los Angeles Times. "The unremitting liberal orientation finally became too much for me."

I'd love to see this on billboards everywhere.

The Rathergate story has been percolating through the net. Google News has listed thousands of stories over the last few days.

I wonder if the boys at Blackrock are aware of how seriously they have screwed themselves, or do they all live in a state of denial as, I imagine, Rather must.

This is very interesting. In addition to VGS coming out and speaking against Blather, the report aftermath is becoming a week-long story, rather than a one day/one shot story.

This says to me (former CBS TV reporter) that we have not heard the last of this, by a long shot.

VGS will be talk of newsroom today and tomorrow, which will "give permission" to some else to talk, which will.......

Dan Rather's liberal bias has so permeated the "CBS Evening News" that even he can't stand to watch anymore.

Now he knows how normal people feel.

You know, several years ago--probably the mid-1980s--there was a book that came out, Black Days at Black Rock, in which the writer, who had worked for CBS News, mentioned von Sauter quite often in those pages.....but most importantly, wrote much about the tactics and techniques of Dan Rather.

After reading that book, I was sure that both Dan Rather and CBS News would take a hit, self-destruct, although of course I had no idea it would happen as it did.

Twenty years ago, one could have figured out that Dan Rather was going to trip over his own feet.

Yes: Mr. Sauiter we are all going to Fox and even at that I am not happy. Fox could use a booster shot of Conservatism too.

"A large swath of the society doesn't trust the news media," he contended. "And for many, it's even stronger than that: They abhor the media and perceive it as an escalating threat to the society."

Bring him back. He gets it.

When the MSM devotes itselfs to an anti-American agenda, than seeks to deceive the American people as an 'objective' carrier of the news on behalf of the people carrying forth that agenda (DNC, U.N.), I consider them to be a threat to American society and will instinctively react accordingly.

Though, I must say, based on comments like this, "The unremitting liberal orientation finally became too much for me.", he sounds like a conservative. Was he a conservative in the '80's when he was President, or did he become so after the fact?

Amazing that "Inspector" Thornburg was unable to detect any bias.

Don't worry folks, this abboration is just temporary. Things will be back to usual in a month or two. It even seems like PBS Lerh report is behaving. Jimbo seemed sooooo polite to our DoS tonight. He did not interrupt him, nor interject any cute remarks or comeons. They are all scared, but it won't last for long. The American population at large will forget in a few weeks at most that CBS ever had a problem. That is for those that even had an idea as to what CBS pulled off.
Tis the way America works in the twenty first century. Not all America is quite as observant as those at sites like this.

Isn't Van Gordon Sauter the bow-tied liberal clown to whom Kathleen Brown [Rice], ex-California Gov. Jerry Brown's sister, was married?

This is no exaggeration. The liberal media is, in many respects, a threat to democracy in that it deprives the electorate of a broad range of untainted news that is needed to make informed decisions over candidates and voting issues.

I believe if all the Television Networks experienced a total electrical power failure for about five years, then our country will have a much better chance of restoring the principles of our Founding Fathers!
