I too saw the very much edited/shortened "WE WERE SOLDIERS" broadcast version on TNT and then I went to my DVD and saw it again full length and all the DVD's Special Features.

I still find it very calming listening to NICK-GLENNIE SMITH's superb Motion Picture Soundtrack that includes the inspiring hymn 'Mansions of the Lord' that was sung while President REAGAN's flag-draped casket was carried out of his Washington, D.C. Funeral Service.

That whole movie wears well with multiple viewings...I still can't help but get choked up as the women deliver the telegrams to the wives. Great sacrifices were made by soldier and family alike.
