That whole movie wears well with multiple viewings...I still can't help but get choked up as the women deliver the telegrams to the wives. Great sacrifices were made by soldier and family alike.

As the Battalion S-1 Personnel Clerk I do remember typing up Lt. Col. HAL G. MOORE's handwritten Letters of Condolances to the Families and Loved Ones of our U.S. 7th Cavalry's dead and wounded of the Battle of IA DRANG-1965. Some going thru Mrs. JULIE MOORE for her personal hand delivery in Columbus GA outside Ft. Benning.
