The photos of President Bush have shown him to be very pensive oftentimes throughout this visit.
I can't help but wonder what is weighing on his mind.

I was hoping there was another one that showed how it hung. You know, full length.I didn't see a full-length one, but we've seen that gown before. It's floor-length and hangs very nicely. All it is, is a plain shirtwaist design in a spectacular fabric.

How could that not rip out a person's heart? One of the things I most admire about GWB is how he always manages to find a way to show respect for our troops no matter where he goes.

The point is, give the guy a break. He has the toughest job on the Planet Earth.
Terrorism, islamofascism, dirty nukes on one end... Nancy Pelosi, liberals, Harry Reid, cut and run pansies, elections on the other.
In the words of that great poet and philosopher James Buffet:
"If we couldn't laugh we would all go insane."
W has to be thinking:
"Damn it, Rove told me there would be a permanent Republican majority if I just tried to make everyone happy and give them what they want. Oh well, should I order the California Roll at dinner or would that be too 'American'? Maybe I should try something exotic and really impress them. Maybe I'll try the Spider Roll, that sounds good."

I can't help but wonder what is weighing on his mind.I would speculate that it's the bleak time he and the country have to look forward to from the Dem congress.
As we know from watching him for so long, our Dubya is a sensitive man -- tough, but sensitive too. The election results have got to be weighing on him.
Gretchen, I know a lot of people don't agree with me, but I believe he experienced a degree of burn out when Katrina hit last year. I don't think he's quite been the same since.

Thank you for your post.
It is with many mixed emotions I view the photos of our president, first lady, secretary of state, and other US officials, in Hanoi.

That doesn't really sound like you're trying to give the guy a break. It sounds like you're saying he's a mindless idiot who blindly follows whatever his advisors tell him.

Looks like they both had the sme idea on what tie to wear today. Our Dubya has always favored solid-color ties with little or no pattern. That way, he is sure to match colors with someone at almost every event. ;-)

I agree with you on the friendships continuing. I can see the four couples getting together as a group perhaps at Crawford, Australia etc.. as well as duo couples along the way.
Thanks for the Populace pix.. to be honest I was shocked at what I saw(impressed shocked) from Vietnam. In my mind I guess I was still seeing a bombed out country. Everything is so beautifully done & the people are very attractive.
Thanks for the great pix/commentary again tonight Wolfstar. You posters do an exceptional job to bring us updates & great graphics of folks we love to love!

If I got this right, he was contrasting the surplus of the USA and our free market economy (which makes life easier for us as well as a president who must always be aware of our economic situation and try to keep it healthy and growing), with the economic structure of the other nation.
