My problem with McCain is that the only thing that I think he can be trusted on, is national security. He’s bad on taxes, he helped write the campaign finance bill and he’s terrible on immigration. I
Look, I have differences of oppinion with McCain, however the rips he takes for his off the cuff statements that are played up by the liberal press by and large are not warranted, his conservative voting record lifetime is over 80%.
McCain took hits for criticizing Rumsfeld and the Bush execution of the war from a lot of people, especially on the right hand side. Historically though, he’s probably likely to be proven right on many of those criticisms. The press of course spun thos criticisms as though McCain were siding with the Dems.. which of course he wasn’t.
I don’t agree with McCain on many things, but he does get a far worse rap, particularly among some groups, than he deserves.
Lifetime voting record 80%+ conservative.... That’s not something to ignore. No matter what statement the press has latched on from his mouth to portray things differently.
