There's another victim to the story. That is the engineer who struck the police officer. A customer of mine when to was selling boats was an retired engineer for Metro North and he saw hit a guy who was commiting suicide. He lived with the pain of hitting him.
As a railfan, one of my favorite spot to visit is Virtual Railfan You Tube channel and the grab bag video from all around the US and Canada. There are a few Darwin Award candidates shown, a few days ago, a well dressed lady walked between the cars (the train was stopped), but as soon as she walked from the cars the train started moving..Amazing...
