I have always believed that China would eventually grab the Eastern part of Russia.

I don’t disagree with the timeline. But China is never an “ally.” China ONLY cares about China. They don’t trust anyone, and I don’t see them keeping any deal for very long.

I never had any doubt that any apparent cooperation between Russia and China was being done - from China’s point of view - solely for China’s benefit, and that they were playing a double-game with Russia.
It’s also in demographic collapse.
Reminds me of an episode of “The Rifleman’. Lucas McCain was digging his own grave in front of 2 gunman. The told the 2nd guy: “Notice how he’s in charge? He wants this grave deep enough for two.” That’s all it took.
Comparing Russia and China, Russia is far more similar to the USA than China, not saying that we should be close allies with Russia, but we should be enemies either.
All we’ve done is push Russia close to China which is incredibly shortsighted and stupid.

I was saying that after the collapse of the Soviet Union over 30 years ago.
But the Neocons rubbed Russia's nose in their humiliation. They also sent Harvard "economic advisors" to Russia, to help their oligarchs financially rape the Russian people.
The Neocons thought that America as a unipolar superpower would last throughout the 21st century. That America could "remake the Middle East" and democratize (subdue) the entire world.
Their imperial dreams began with the collapse of the Soviet Union and Gulf War, and pretty much ended with our humiliating withdrawal from Afghanistan.
Now that the Ukraine and NATO has lost the war is lost the leftist neocons are praying for a war between China and Russia. Pretty damn sad.
From China’s perspective, it is a perfect scenario. The longer it lasts, the better for China.
