The Wall Street Journal has reported that President Trump is considering former D.C. circuit judge and former California Supreme Court justice Janice Rogers Brown to succeed Jeff Sessions as attorney general. Assuming that becomes necessary at some point, it is important that the president pick someone who will continue the important work Sessions has already undertaken during his tenure at the Department of Justice in matters such as criminal justice reform and illegal immigration.

I am not sure she would want the AG job but I have no doubt that she could do it.
I prefer young judges, they will be around longer.
Yep...I was fortunate enough to hear her speak at a symposium on the Constitution a few years ago. She was very well received and expressed very sound constitutional principles.
Brown is tied to the George W. Bush bloodline. The connections to the Bush family are way too numerous, and too tight for me to feel comfortable. Could be another “sessions.”
Try another name. Hell, I’d rather have Laura Ingraham.
I love Judge Janice Rogers Brown, nut there are better qualified people for this job.
Important work?
Coloring DARE posters?
She is very conservative. I agree with all this paper:
Janice Rogers Brown Quotes:
“Government is the only enterprise in the world which expands in size when its failures increase”
“
Writing 50 years ago, F.A. Hayek warned us that a centrally planned economy is “The Road to Serfdom.”3 He was right, of course; but the intervening years have shown us that there are many other roads to serfdom. In fact, it now appears that human nature is so constituted that, as in the days of empire all roads led to Rome; in the heyday of liberal democracy, all roads lead to slavery. And we no longer find slavery abhorrent. We embrace it. We demand more. Big government is not just the opiate of the masses. It is the opiate. The drug of choice for multinational corporations and single moms; for regulated industries and rugged Midwestern farmers and militant senior citizens.
It is my thesis today that the sheer tenacity of the collectivist impulse whether you call it socialism or communism or altruism has changed not only the meaning of our words, but the meaning of the Constitution, and the character of our people.
Government is the only enterprise in the world which expands in size when its failures increase.”

Media has gotten these calls consistently wrong. The current acting AG is probably the best guy, at least for the next 2 years.
No,President Trump Should NOT Replace Jeff Sessions With Janice Rogers Brown.
In 2000, she authored the opinion in Kasler v. Lockyer, upholding the right of the State of California to ban semi-automatic firearms, and of the Attorney General of California to add to the list of prohibited weapons. Her opinion in that case clearly explained that the decision was not an endorsement of the policy, but rather recognition of the power of the state.
Exactly.
JRB is a very highly qualified judge who shouldve been given consideration by a previous administration for the SCOTUS.
Judge Brown would be an outstanding choice for any high-level legal position.

I don’t want some .gov namby-pamby lifer.
I want a fire-breathing street brawler for AG, someone like Joe DiGenova or Judge Jeamine Pirro.
Trump would be better off going by his own instincts.
The interim guy may be just the ticket.
Another Great woman Circuit Court Judge is Edith Jones. She was George H.W. Bush’s second choice for the US Supreme Court, but John Sununu conned him into nominating David Souter from his home state of New Hampshire. How the court would have been so much better with Edith Jones on it instead of Souter.
More on Edith Jones.

Edith Clements is also an outstanding Constitutionalist Judge on the 5th Circuit; the same one as Edith Jones.
I read through her Wikipedia page.
Two problems jumped out.
As a California Supreme she wrote that a state has the right to ban semi-automatic weapons.
And, she described her politics as a young person as “borderline Maoist.”
NO. Trump was denied a loyal AG for his first 2 years by RINOs working with the Deep State.
Trump needs a trusted loyalist and an attack dog.
A very, very long time ago. Read this:
