To me there is something fundamentally wrong with granting an ILLEGAL immigrant the RIGHT to operate a motor vehicle on roads that are paid for by tax dollars that the ILLEGAL immigrant is not contributing towards.

I support communism through our trade practices?

You don't even make any damned sense, do you?

You believe that the government should control competition from outside sources via protectionist practices, that the government should control private industry to the extent that it would not allow it to expand freely outside the US, and that the government should be responsible for protecting everyone's jobs.

I believe that if the government kept its hands off our industry, we could not only compete in the world market, but we could control it.

You want to achieve less freedom, I want more freedom.

I hate to break the news to you...the communist here is you, you're just too stupid to realize that.

Apparently Jeb Bush doesn't want to be President.

Or he just read that poll showing Kerry leading Bush 58% to 30% among hispanics in Florida --- and figures all hispanics will vote Republican if the illegals are given licenses.

You are right. It is being done to allow them to take more jobs from Americans and keep wages down. The US isn't being run for American citizens anymore.

That's an unfair attack on Luis.

Having read his posts over the years, he tends to get a bit testy over some of the immigration posts - and some justifiably - but a "supporter of Communism" is a huge stretch.

I support less government interference with business, and I do not believe in protectionist tariffs.

I don't have a problem with tariffs, as long as they're used to pay for the process of inspecting inbound merchandise.

I believe that less government is better, and that individualism is better than collectivism.

That makes me a communist I guess.

The last I heard, Virginia was instituting a policy that makes the driver's license expire when the visa does, for all new licenses issued.

Virginia also requires proof of legal residency for driver's licenses as well. (They didn't before 9/11..in fact, all you needed to get a license before 9/11 was a notarized statement saying who you are).

NEWARK, New Jersey (CNN) -- Federal prosecutors charged a Jordanian man with participating in a fake ID ring that helped several September 11 hijackers obtain bogus driver's licenses and identification cards, prosecutors said Wednesday.

http://www.cnn.com/2002/US/02/27/inv.fake.id.arrests/?related

Important part here:

"To obtain a Virginia driver's license, a person must show proof of residency and two forms of identification. Before September 11, applicants lacking such proof could submit two notarized forms -- an identity affidavit swearing to one's name, address, and basic biographical information; and another form, sworn by a Virginia resident, certifying the applicant's residence in Virginia.

Since the terrorist attacks, Virginia has changed its law and no longer allows the notarized forms as a substitute for official documentation.

Hanjour obtained his Virginia identification card at the Springfield, Virginia, Department of Motor Vehicle's office on August 1 after submitting the two required forms listing a Falls Church, Virginia, address.

The address did not belong to Hanjour; it belonged to Louis Martinez-Flores and 14 other men. The same address was also used by two other hijackers, Khalid Almidhar and Majed Moqed, in obtaining their ID cards.

From the Palm Beach Post news article you mentioned:

The 19 men[in the van]...were coming home from a day of labor in the grapefruit groves in Sebastian about 5:45 p.m. Thursday when their 2001 Ford van, driven by a man the FHP identified as Salvador Leon, overturned four times in the median, strewing most of the occupants along the interstate.

...the van was built to hold 15 people, and it appeared that most of the men were not wearing seat belts.

Leon was driving with a suspended license...

So we have 19 men packed into an uninsured van driven by a man who did have a [suspended] driver's license.

But somehow these many violations of the law are all whitie's fault.

Tyrone (a fictional US citizen) lives in Florida. He purchased car insurance and was given an Insurance Identification Card after he made a down payment to his insurance provider.

Two months later, Tyrone’s insurance was cancelled because no monthly payments were ever made.

After his insurance had been cancelled, Tyrone was stopped by a cop because of a seat belt violation.

Tyrone presented the officer with his Insurance Identification Card. Tyrone got a ticket for not wearing a seat belt, but Tyrone was never cited for not having current insurance.

Do you see the difference between having a document that was valid at the time of its issuance and having no right to have the document ever?

Now to the drivers’ licenses. Ahmed had a student visa and was given a Florida driver’s license when he arrived to the US. Then Ahmed quit going to school, he violated the terms of his visa, and he became an illegal alien.

Ahmed was entitled to a driver's license when he first arrived, and any subsequent behavior does not change that.

Confusing legal driver’s licenses for legal aliens with driver’s licenses for illegal aliens does not lead to rational debate. That was Luis’ point, and somehow you missed it.

So jackass, only you, and the rest of the dimwits here see stating actual facts as apologizing

The fact remains you tried to make terrorists who were here illegally with illegal drivers licenses, who killed thousands of innocent people, look like good, legal, law abiding immigrants when they weren't.

What really makes you made is you are exposed as the anti-American "jackass" that you are...You're anti-American business, you're anti-American immigration and you favor supporting Communists and Communism over American business with our trade practices.

Your charaterization of Luis' comments is unfair.

A ban against drivers' licenses for illegal aliens will never prevent a legal foreign student from getting a legal driver's license.

If the legal foreign student becomes an illegal alien by failing to attend school or otherwise violating his visa requirement, he still has possession of a driver's license that was issued legally.

When they got their licenses, the majority of them were not illegal aliens...that is a fact.

To bitch about illegal aliens getting driver's licenses, and to bitch about the 9/11 hijackers having been issued licenses is not the same thing, not by far...except to morons like yourself, involved in leading like-minded morons by the nose.

By pointing out that the 9/11 hijackers entered the US legally, and obtained legal driver's licenses, points to a much larger problem that your diminutive mind cannot begin to grasp.

You are anti-American business...you want to restrict businesses ability to compete in the world market. You are a racist idiot who can't see past their nose, and who are so damned busy name-calling to actually try to formulate a workable solution to an existing problem when it comes to immigration.

Your entire repertoire has been taught to you, and you haven't had an original thought in your entire miserable life.

"Do you see the difference between having a document that was valid at the time of its issuance and having no right to have the document ever?"

The "author" tried connecting the fact that Jeb Bush supposedly commented that illegal aliens should be able to get a driver's license, to the fact that the 9/11 hijackers had driver's licenses.

Tyrone purchased insurance, which means that at the time that he was issued his ID card, it was completely legal. Bush's alleged suggestion, would have us issue that same ID card to Tyrone in spite of the fact that he never even purchased the required insurance.

That's why the fact that the 9/11 hijackers had been issued driver's licenses is not germane to a discussion aboutr whether illegal aliens should be issued driver's licenses.

Looks like Bush is counting on the motor voter fraud machine, where the endless conga line of foreign nationals, legal and illegal change the course of our elections.
