Not exactly. But there are those of us who are actually from Illinois who:
a) understand the actual situation on the ground, and
b) really resent the party importing an East Coaster instead of supporting a local candidate by putting their money where their mouths are.
Oooh, how impressive. You're really actually from Illinois? Actually?
You are an honorary member of Obama's cheerleading squad.
My understanding of the situation was that after the Jack Ryan situation, and Mike Ditka not running, they didnt have anyone to put up. I'm well aware of the carpetbagging concerns, but I think he will do better than some here are predicting......just wait until the debates! :)
How dare you actually have an opinion on how your State's politics should be run!?

Sorry Mr. Expert on what all Illinoisans are thinking. I'm an Illinoisan and I'm all for Keyes, and can't believe you are still ranting on about what the Pub Party in Illinois has done. What's done is done, and Keyes will be the candidate. Deal with that rather than constant prattling on how the Pub Party in Illinois done you wrong.
Your record needle's stuck, Linc. The fact is, you guys screwed up. You didn't have a candidate. Now you've got a five-star candidate, only downside, he's from out of town. But that's okay, the Dem is from elsewhere too. So let's can the fretting and the what-might-have-beens, and get the sleeves rolled up. How about it?
Keyes is the best possible choice given the circumstances. He will help put forth an important conservative message and draw a lot of media attention.
No Names from Illinois would do NOTHING to help the party.
Few who can reason efficiently object to this move by the party and Keyes is infinitely preferrable to the absurd alternative the party was considering. An alternative laughable and infuriating at the same time to anyone who "understands the actual situation on the ground..."
