Surinamese Deepak Kalpoe, 21, arrives to court in Oranjestad, Aruba, Friday, Aug. 26, 2005. Aruban police arrested Kalpoe and his brother Satish, 18, along with a third person according to government spokesman Ruben Trapenberg, saying he doesn't know if the arrests are connected to the disappearance of Natalee Holloway. Two Surinamese brothers, Satish and Deepak Kalpoe, who had been detained and released in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway were arrested again Friday based on new evidence, officials said. I tend to agree that the Salvation Army is a reputable organization. Certainly I would choose them before the Red Cross.
I have to say I'm disappointed that Greta doesn't seem to even be mentioning it right now (I haven't watched for the whole 2 hours) so I'm glad to hear the two voices that make me cringe (Crosby, and Grace) at least still beating the drum....anything helps.
No kidding. What kind of softball questions are those? Why not hit them with the Hard Questions?
23rd of next month :)
Actually I really like Nancy. She doesn't irritate me at all except in the odd circumstance. Once in a while it bugs me when she interrupts her guest(s). But I like fiery. She also tells those Defense Attny types "exactly" what they are up to and she tells them right on the spot.
OMG!! The thought of the Van der Sluts being grilled by Nancy is almost delicious!!
September 25th I will be another year older. My husband is September 18th and my Brother-in-law is September 10th!! We all just pick a night and go out for dinner together to celebrate all three birthdays in one fell swoop LOL!!
it's just the exagerration of everything that annoys me ;) Just gimme the facts--
Fritz I think it is probably most important that they accomplish the job you expect of them when making a donation. Generally speaking the Salvation Army is real Christian in nature and frankly I trust that they would not MISuse the funds for the leaders. In my small city they do many good works that others don't even attempt. They have my support. You know the saying, "You can't preach to an empty stomach". Firstly they take care of peoples physical needs and then deal with the spiritual. I believe Jesus would do the same.
If you want extensive info... let me know and I will respond...<<<
Yes, please freepmail the info. Thanks.
I've noticed that Greta has not even mentioned the Holloway case in the last two nights. I wonder if this is because she is ordered to by her higher ups or if she thinks that sole coverage of the Hurricane disaster will give her better ratings? Frankly, I haven't watched her show in the last two nights because of this. ALL the news stations have Hurricane coverage. Thank God for Nancy who NEVER forgets the victim.
Yeah I know, sometimes she's a little over the top. She even admits it (at least she did when LKL was interviewing her once). What I find she does sometimes is she will get stuck on some fact that is wrong and she doesn't change it. One in particular is she keeps referring to PVDS as a Judge. I want to scream every time she says it. I suppose I could email her and make sure she has been informed and then I could stop my bitching about it. LOL
I have huge issues with the Red Cross, well I actually have issues with many charities--but I'm solidly behind the Salvation Army.
EXACTLY!! I learned that about the Red Cross during the 9/11 debacle. I could hardly believe it. They raised MILLIONS upon MILLIONS of dollars for the 9/11 victims who when interviewed a couple of months later had NOT received a penny. That supremely peed me off. After that I would never donate to them. It's like they have to HOARD money for something that "might" happen down the road which makes NO sense when they have a disasterous need staring them right in the face!!
Couldn't agree with you more. When my Dad was fighting in Korea, they were pulled back from the front lines for a brief rest. The Red cross was SELLING DOUGHNUTS AND HOT COFFEE to our guys. But the Salvation Army were GIVING THEM to our guys. Ever since my Dad told me about that, I have always made my donations to the Salvation Army.
That's unreal. Looks like they have been the same from waaaaaaaay back huh? The bloody nerve, selling donughts and coffee to those not only fighting for their country but those who were in definite need of some food and drink. Disgraceful!! One of my American cousins fought in that war. His name was Gordie Cameron from Seattle Washington. Cousin Gord passed away this Spring. We were just devestated. He was such a good man. Worked for the Bank of America for many years and then quit to become a Prison Minister. His brother Alan, my other cousin is still alive and lives in Seattle also.
Alas, it looks like I'm talking to myself!!
OT, but since Rent-a-Mob was mentioned earlier, this sentence is interesting:
"Most of the Sheehan protesters were either professional (paid staff of Fenton Communications or the radical organization Code Pink or the like), or were long time protesters, some admitting to beginning vigils against the government as early as 1965."

Thanks for this information. I was about to give money to Catholic Charities primarily because I admire what a Catholic agency does in my community. Then I made the mistake of reading their legislative agenda. So it's very timely to read your post. I'll go with the Salvation Army.
