Ann Coulter weighs in on Darwinism

I’m happy to report that I was in constant correspondence with Ann regarding her chapters on Darwinism — indeed, I take all responsibility for any errors in those chapters. :-)

He claimed in the press that the class he was offering was a serious academic critique of creationism - but he was at the same time emailing friends and colleagues about how he was offering the class just to get a rise out of he people he hated.

The two are not mutually exclusionary; and if this is your grounds for calling him a liar, you don't have a leg to stand on.

He claims that he just happened to be taking a long predawn drive to clear his head, that someone was tailgating him, that he stopped and got out of his car and they stopped too and hit him. He couldn't describe the vehicle. Or the assailants. Or the metal object he was hit with. Or where he was when the alleged assault took place. Or even the hour when it took place. Literally no useful details of any kind.

Most of this is false. He described the vehicle as a pick up. He described what one of the men was wearing. He said he was beaten with fists, and possibly a metal object. He was unsure only about which of two section roads he was beaten on, and he reported the time.

The alleged assault occurred at precisely the right time for him to obscure his forced resignation as chair of his department due to his unethical behavior.

He was forced to resign after the beating, not before.

He is not the first professor to manufacture a fake "hate crime" to deflect criticism.

Oh, because one 'professor' manufactured a hate crime, any other report of same from any other faculty member forever must be false.

You're calling Mirecki a liar, but in fact almost everything you wrote above is false. So I guess at least we've identified one liar.

Paul Mirecki was not making fun of the religion of Paul Mirecki worship - he was making fun of Christianity

He was brought up Catholic. He was making fun of Catholicism. I do it too. Deal with it, and stop ranting.

I'm out of here. The creationist stupidity and mendaciousness is worse even than usual. Thinking of Ann Coulter must have gotten them all extra rabid. Tschuss!

You choose to believe some evidence and reject other evidence

This is not how evidence is evaluated and validated. Please stop spreading these misrepresentatinos.

yet when creationists do the same,

What creationists do is *not* comparable to how evidence is validated in science. It is a gross misrepresentation to call these two very differing methods "the same".

they are called stupid, ignorant, etc.

When the shoe fits, yeah -- as it does far too often.

Your post #185 highlights what I meant. Evos value science. Creationist value faith. Neither wishes to loose the thing they value. Both believe their valued system is superior.

Right now there is a correspondence of posts attempting to discredit one another by affiliating their valued system with a tyrant.

Why is this necessary? I think the perception of the comments made in these type of correspondence are also subjective depending on one's persuasion.

You're not really expecting anything close to the truth from an anti-evo, do you? They cannot be trusted to do anything like research before posting; they simply go with the first thing that pops into their heads as if it were divine revelation.

same people who believe the hypothesis of evolution to be correct also believe in global warming. go figure.

The earth is getting warmer whether you like it or not. The question is whether it is caused by man. Can you show me where evolutionists believe global warming is man-made and the correlation between the two?

Just how many times do we have to look at the same picture of skulls? And aren't they the same pictures you post every thread? (Well, almost every thread. The one about sex toys didn't get this particular graphic.)

re: you're going to heave where you can laugh at all them there pointy-headed knowitall scientists

Mostly we have here the liberal arts "social" scientists...Painters of pictures and spinners of tales.

Weeks after President George Bush took office, the National Academy of Sciences warned him: "We believe that global environmental change may well be the most pressing international issue of the next century." Of the environmental threats surfacing, global warming is perhaps the most imposing. Scientists believe man-made atmospheric changes may result in a global mean temperature rise of from 1.5 to 5.5 degrees C. by the middle of the next century. As glaciers melt, sea level could rise as much as five feet, transforming heavily populated coastal areas into ocean. The climate shift could disrupt agriculture, defeat present water supply and flood control efforts, and doom plant and animal species that are unable to adapt.

"Come to think of it, that's a pretty common tactic amongst the "more conservative than thou" crowd."

As compared to the liberals who we all know welcome challenges to their PC rhetoric.
