Just a thought.
It occurred to me that those on FR need a place to discuss religion, religious thought, denominal issues all things religious without worrying about hurt feelings or bruised egos.
This would be a bare knuckle discussion.
If you have thin skin or are easily offended it would be better not to participate.
technically, baptism is a form of “re-birth”.
I would say that all Christians are “born again”, but not in the same way that it is used by modern evangelicals as a “I’m saved” kind of sticker they wear on their forehead. When you turn your heart to The Lord (and to your fellow brothers and sisters), and away from your own selfishness, you are born again in Spirit.
Praise God...
Jesus is the Healer...
:)
I asked you to elaborate. If you think that suffices, then you have set yourself a low bar.
Precisely.
And you cannot tell if my characterization is inaccurate (or objective) because you don't have the time. Cute.
I don’t know the fellow in the picture so I can’t what he feels. But maybe I’m slow today.
Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.......But without faith it is impossible to please Him: for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Hebrews 11:1, 6
What exactly, does that answer?
Psalm 23 That’s wonderful
:)
Your queries about faith..
Hand-raising is a form of worship.
In football, a touchdown is met with ‘raised hands’. Basketball, a 3-point shot.
Or a sign of submission (like the French army ;) )...
Jumping around - like David did when the ark was brought to Jerusalem. I tell my kids that you are to dance/jump-around until your family is embarrassed...
How does that answer why does it matter if someones faith is different, or doesnt God know what our faith is going to be, before we are even born? You’ll have to explain that to me, as I couldn’t get it from your answer.
If all faiths were equal then there would be no need for faith, there would be no point in having a set of beliefs. There will be one Truth, and in a world where Good and Evil are in opposition, there will be false teachings set upon man to misguide him.
It is OK to respect and tolerate other faiths, but that does not make them correct.
The Bible is quite clear for the believers of the One True God, just as the Koran is correct for the false religion of islam created to misguide man and lead him down the path of evil.

I had asked why wouldnt God be capable of more than one truth and couldnt God have given each of us our own truth?
David sang and danced before the Lord regardless of how he looked to others or who was looking..1 Samuel 6:14
Rejoice in the LORD, O ye righteous: [for] praise is comely for the upright. Psalm 33:1
Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with [my] whole heart, in the assembly of the upright, and [in] the congregation. Psalm 111:1
O praise the LORD, all ye nations: praise him, all ye people. Psalm 117:1
Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he [is] God: [it is] he [that] hath made us, and not we ourselves; [we are] his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, [and] into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, [and] bless his name. Psalm 100:2-4
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the timbrel and harp. Psalm 149:3
Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Psalm 150:4
No, it’s the typical 1rudeboy position on children. They’re loud, demanding, and they eat peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches with their faces.
Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. the Way the Truth and the Life John 14:6
If all faiths were equal, why would there be no need for faith?
Why would there be one truth? Is God incapable of creating us each with our own truth about Him?
How do you know if a faith is incorrect?
Why would God create millions and millions of people that He knew would not be Christians?
