Click “Organize Bookmarks”. Drag the lines off.

Off hand, try opening ‘organize bookmarks’ and deleting the separators (purposeless lines).

If your install of firefox is messed up, try reinstalling. If that fails, export your bookmarks, uninstall firefox (along with personal settings), then fresh install and import your book marks back into the browser.

Good luck.

Select Organize Bookmarks under Bookmarks
Select Bookmarks Menu in the left pane
Highlight the separator line in the right pane
Right click and Delete.

I’m quite surprised the Linux folks haven’t shown up to tell you that “Dwarf” or “Midget” or “Runt” or “Toadie” will fix it for you.

They must have run out of mythos.

Try:

IMHO, there is no bookmarking system that is superior to the one developed by delicious.com. It is simply THE BEST and, unless you try it out, you will never know what you are missing.

It provides for tagging bookmarks with names like "political", "tech", "video" etc. and then setting up a toolbar for any particular tag. So you can have as many toolbars as you like and just pick the one you want to use at any given time. Very easy to switch back and forth. It's a thing of beauty.

If you are a Firefox user then here is the link to the plugin:
