PROMISE! My Last Palin Post Ever (Says if Erik Erickson is over you, you're done! LOL)
The Manteca Bulletin ^ | September 30, 2011 | Anthony Cheeks

It seems that activity in these blogs and in the letters forums certainly picked up when discussing the fortunes of the former governor of Alaska. We leftists were spared no amount of scorn and ridicule due to our criticism of Sarah Palin. Of course it was never made to clear how our criticism of Palin is any different from the vitriol directed towards Nancy Pelosi or Barbara Boxer in these same forums, but that is another topic.

I am writing this post, because today just might mark a key turning point in the political fortunes of Sarah Palin. It would seem that we folks on the left are no longer the only ones who are starting to grow a tad weary of her.

Redstate.com is a conservative, even borderline hard-core right wing web site. The proprietor is a man named Erick Erickson who today expressed his own frustration with Palin's ongoing will-she or won't-she run saga that makes Hamlet look downright decisive. But the point is that he did not do it with straight-ahead political commentary, he used the kind of mocking ridicule he usually reserves for liberals.

When the head honcho of a leading conservative website is openly mocking you, perhaps your 4 years and 15 minutes of fame is almost over? Anyway, that's my last word on the former governor. If right wing websites are making fun of her, there is nothing else for us leftists to say, except that once again Mark Twain was proven right when he said, "it is the radical who creates the ideas, then when those ideas are worn out, the conservative adopts them".

So to all of you die hard Palin fans out there, it is no longer just us leftists for whom Palin is more annoying than anything else. Take a look and see what at least one fellow conservative has to say about Palin. Also note how he refers to her supporters as a "cult".

We leftists should now just shut up about Palin. Conservatives have adopted yet another one of our ideas. I know I am breaking my own rule about citing opinion blogs as sources. But when my point is that a specific opinion is no longer exclusive to the left, it somehow seems appropriate.

BREAKING NEWS: PALIN SUPPORTERS CLAIM SHE NEVER SAID IT OR MEANT IT OR SOMETHING

There is movement within the cult. They are mad as hell at us for pointing out Governor Palin set this as her own drop dead date.

Sarah never set ANY date. In response to questioning about Aug/Sept being a drop dead date, she said “for legal and logisticcal reasons that would be the basic time frame, yes”.

By your logic, if Palin does not run she will have lied to all of her supporters for month after month after month. You, the fanatics at C4P and all of her other die hard followers would have reason to absolutely detest her if she doesn't run.

Perhaps she is aware of how big of a let down this will be? Perhaps she realizes she allowed this tease to go on too long and while she had decided against running, just can't face the hostile reaction she will unleash from her rabid supporters.

By George, you're catching on! You do realize that you just reinforced my argument / reasoning for why Palin is indeed running, don't you?

Rita, all due respect but your argument is hilarious. You say “Leaders lead”.........well, let’s expand your analysis of “leading” and plug Eisenhower into the discussion. He was, few would dispute, a leader, charged by fate and chronology with the responsibility of invading Fortress Europe. In the leadup to D-day, Eisenhower created whole divisions of rubber tank diversons opposite Pas de Calais resulting in enough indecisiveness and confusion on the part of Hitler and his generals in the initial crucial hours to save untold thousands of our young soldiers lives!

Similarly, Palin is creating a lot of indecisiveness in the minds of elite pubbies (her enemy) and Soros (her enemy) and the press (her enemy) and the left in general (her enemies) all the while saving many millions of preciouos dollars for her fight which she wants to be one in which she, on election day, is not beholding to the usual array of criminal influence peddlers in posession of big bucks to bribe candidates.

Eisenhower finally announced D-day the night of June 5-6, only hours before the troops started moving and when all conditions in his “leader” mind were as perfect as they could get for his enormous challenge!

When Sarah feels conditions are right, timing (the clock) is right and everything is as it should be for her to have the maximum chance of success (and with the very existence of America at stake), like Eisenhower she will let all her enemies, as well as her friends know. Until then, like Eisenhower, she has very solid reasons for keeping quite about her June 6th !!!

Eisenhower had how many years of training and experience in real, actual warfare? Palin? I don’t think so; the comparison is so fatuous that you do more harm than you imagine to Palin.

Granted, Eisenhower was dealing with blood flowing within 24 hours and nothing can be more awesome than that notwithstanding the fact that he himself was never involved in actual combat coming up through the ranks.

But, as Gabbie proved, politics in the US is a blood sport too. So, with all due respect to you sir, the Palin’s probably do see running for President as a form of “warfare” and warfare that can be very ‘real’ and very ‘actual’. I’m sure Todd thinks about Gabbie almost daily! Keyboard jockey’s like you and I should bear that in mind. I do.

I love the rubber tank diversion story. I love WWII stories, but please. Ms Palin, however, is attributed with powers, feats and victories that are imaginary by any solid measurement and the Eisenhower comparison is hilarious were it not so embarrassing. I fear outright voodoo is no longer out of the question.

Voodoo??? I’m speechless. YOu have an active mind.

That you cannot grasp the similarities between one big event in our history and another is unfortunate though not so surprising since history hasn’t been taught in government schools in decades.

Ike has been on the list since almost the beginning.

This is an ongoing list of historical, popular, and Biblical people, as well as fictional characters and animals that Sarah Palin™ has been compared to on FR:

These are all serious comparisons. None are of my own invention.

In case you’re wondering, Jesus Christ was on the list at one time but I removed him because *I* was accused of being sacrilegious.
