Douglas Kennedy, Fox News correspondent and son of the late Robert F. Kennedy, has been charged with assault after a 7 January incident in a New York hospital.
2 nurses at the Mt Kisco hospital alleged that Kennedy became violent after they tried to prevent him from taking his newborn son Bo outside of the ward. Kennedy says he wanted to "get some fresh air" and had already received permission from other nurses on duty, Reuters reports.
The confrontation began after nurses issued a "code pink", an alert that someone is attempting to abduct a baby. The incident was partially caught on surveillance camera; although obscured by a doorway, nurse Cari Luciano can be seen falling to the ground.
Luciano stated that Kennedy "raised his right foot and with tremendous force kicked [her] in the pelvis area". Another nurse, Anna Lane, accused the New York-based journalist of twisting her arm, although this appears off screen on the surveillance video.
Kennedy has been charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child.
Kennedy and his wife have labeled accusations "absurd" in an interview with NBC New York. His lawyer, Robert Gottlieb, called the altercation the result of "aggressive and grossly inappropriate behavior by two nurses".
"Whatever Douglas did came about only because the nurse was lunging to grab his child from his arms. What Douglas did was simply to protect his baby," he added.
A date for the hearing has not yet been announced.
Never mind that they identify him as a Fox News reporter and not the son of RFK....

He is a Kennedy. One of the “privileged class”. If he actually gets jail time and sentenced, then we know that their horrible family legacy is finally ending.

That's awesome! How many parents do you know that would deliberately handicap their child like that? He's letting us know at an early stage that he's an idiot and shouldn't have reproduced, sometimes it takes a lifetime to come to that conclusion about someone.
It's either that or he has a thing for The Dukes of Hazzard.
I’ve seen a couple of threads on this incident already, and yours is the first comment I’ve seen that focused on the man kicking-a-woman aspect, which I was disgusted by right away also.
I was astounded at how many comments there were taking the side of the woman-kicker.

So how come this happened in January & we’re just hearing about it? I thought Fox reports all the news?
Perhaps he was just getting the jump on future custody. Very strange that he would take a 2 day old baby out for fresh air. As a catholic, isn’t he supposed to wait til after baptism? Just wondering.
This incident reminds me of Chappaquddick and how the Kennedys descend on the little people with their army of lawyers,investigators and public relations hacks. This all scares regular people and they can always find someone on the take for a nice sum of money.
Useful idiots like this Kennedy clansman, have no idea that once their all powerful utopia is enacted and the state owns their child, they will be subjected to the same Marxist abuse they sought against the “fly over country” Americans.

Well, no offense intended here, but if I’m holding my newborn son and somebody “lunges” at me in an effort to take him away, then hell yes, I’m going to kick that person as hard as I possibly can (because I can’t hit them without dropping my son) regardless if they are a man or woman, tall or short, young or old, with a wooden leg, and wearing glasses. And I wouldn’t give two shiites what anybody thinks or says about it.
But that’s just me.
