Suze Orman: If You Know A Gay Person, Vote For Obama [VIDEO]
The Jane Dough ^ | May 14, 2012 | Amy Tennery

Posted on 05/15/2012 10:22:12 PM PDT by 2ndDivisionVet

Suze Orman, personal finance guru and Chancellor Of Extremely Tough Love, stopped by The View today for a wide-ranging discussion that included, unsurprisingly, a conversation about President Obama’s recent announcement in support of gay marriage. Orman, herself openly gay and happily married, shared her reaction to Obama’s statement — and gave an emotional plea for more support for gay marriage.

The segment, of course, was not without some awkward moments. The worst of which, perhaps, was when Barbara Walters choked out the sentence “you are married to your [insert 5-second pause here] wife?” with the same tone with which someone might ask “you own… 58 pet iguanas?”

“Is that hard to say?” Orman responded, somewhat stunned. Can’t say we blame her for wondering.

“No, I had to think of the right word,” Walters explained.

Mmm. Moving on.

And what did Orman think when she heard the president announce his support for same-sex marriage?

“I thought I was going to die of happiness on the spot. You know, I’m going to be 61 in June. And in my entire life I never thought — during my lifetime — that I would see that this even beginning to be a possibility.”

Of course, when View co-host Elizabeth Hasselbeck noted that Obama sort of, well, put same-sex marriage back on the states to figure it out for themselves, Orman didn’t mince words, arguing that “It has to go to the federal level. It absolutely has to.”

And then, the kicker:

“It’s an emotional issue, it’s a financial issue. And it’s an issue that I really hope — if you know a gay person, if they’re your mother your children, your cousin, your employee, your employer, I don’t care, your dog walker — I’m asking you all to vote for President Obama and make this a reality.”

How about if you know a conservative or Christian person, vote for Romney? Yeah yeah... I know that many don’t see Romney as Christian nor conservative. But I’m just trying to apply her logic here.

If a voter knows anyone who is out of work or at a job lacking less than they were 5 years ago, vote for Romney.

Easy response.

They should have been fired for discussing politics at work via company resources.

Like turning on the light and watching the cockroach’s run out.

I am appalled at so many who are accepting homosexuality.

It’s a mental illness folks. These people are sick, and the infection is spreading. It’s become a malignant epidemic.
It’s becom so prevalent that many people are starting to try it to see what they have been missing.

Curiosity killed the cat and that curiosity is growing the homosexual ranks every day.
People are so desperate for Orgasm that they are willing to try anything.. Morals are being tossed out the window in the search for the big O.

Suze Orman is a very talented business woman ...
Is she a successful business woman or does she just give advice?
And her advice is little more than common sense: pay off debt; max annual payments to 401(k); live within means.

What are you supposed to do if you know a gay person who needs a job?

Because he is a lousy President who is wrecking our economy and destroying our military, I was already at the position of not voting for Obama. That he has added destroying our society to his list, makes me work hard at seeing this assclown is evicted from the White House

These people are sick. Our whole existence now revolves around demented gay people.

Dave Ramsey is a better source of financial advice - and he gives specific advice on HOW to get out of debt and budget as well. Suze Orman has only recently started adopting some of his more specific “how” advice, while still focusing on the emotional relationship with money.

Orman replied: “K.T. is my life partner. K.T. stands for Kathy Travis. We’re going on seven years. I have never been with a man in my whole life. I’m still a 55-year-old virgin.”

So the "marriage" hasn't been consummated.

I know a fair number of gay people also. I disagree with their lifestyle but that is their call. AND there are many gay people who do NOT support the concept of same sex marriage. No one calls THEM haters, though...

Suze Orman is advocating a vote for an individual that is the opposite of her in relationship to wealth creation

No real surprise, IMHO.

If more people were successful, then she'd be out of a job. Tough times make people look for "easy" answers, which sells her books.

I’m still a 55-year-old virgin

That wouldn't have anything to do with your breathtaking ugliness, would it "Suze"?

Makes one more than suspect for ANY advice Suze gives.

Yes; by all means; with all problems challenging our Country; shaking it to it's roots - our Constitution being ripped to shreds - but wait: Vote FOR Obama; because you have a 'Gay friend'.

The sheer insanity of it all. But what else to expect; even on their best day; from a Lib. Apparently. . .

. . .given this plea from an 'internationally known financial expert'; and without question - if there was any, that is - now completely 'outed' Liberal.

Suze Orman is strong on eliminating credit card use and funding personal saving accounts.

Well, DUH! But, in fact Orman is often wrong on other advice according to financial advisers and market watchers. I think it is because as with many liberals, she is a liberal first and that takes precedent. It influences the way she thinks on every subject and she can't separate her politics and professions.

As he should have been. Just imagine if he sent everyone an e-mail encouraging everyone to vote the opposite way? He would’ve been fired in a second. But my bosses were big time libs who either agreed with him or at the very least didn’t want to deal with it.

Agreed. It was also unwelcome intrusion into the lives of his fellow employees. How we vote on anything was irrelevant to our jobs. If he wanted to discuss the issue with his friends, that’s one thing. But we are his co-workers who are their for one purpose: to do our jobs and earn our paychecks. I deeply resented it and so did one of my co-workers who was a Baptist youth minister’s wife.

If it had been the other way around he would have sued you and the company for job harassment.
