Ten thousand more people are expected to be on hand in the Nevada desert for this year's Burning Man festival after federal officials increased the event's attendance cap.
The U.S. Bureau of Land Management issued a special recreation permit to the nonprofit behind Burning Man, San Francisco-based Black Rock City LLC, that allows 60,900 people to attend the arts festival, up from 50,000 last year. Officials announced the increase on Tuesday.

I won’t be there. Someone can have my space.
Like everything else, once the idea became nainstream the idea sucks now..
60,900 vs 50,000 people?
I wonder what that *carbon footprint* amounts to? How do they get away with that crap, and the oil cos get shut-down, point-blank by the drones at the EPA? Is ‘Burning Man’ full of lib-dem donors? I went to Woodstock (’69), but I sure wouldn’t go to BM. Sounds truly like something I’d avoid, at all costs.
There is word of some bad antacid going around...
What's orange and looks good on a hippie?

You said bm.
I used to love going to all the hippie fests when I was younger; Grateful Dead, Rainbows, that type of thing. But then it got too big, 100k show up for a 20k venue, people thought it was an excuse to break laws, and act the fool. (It was not and never was).
So I grew out of it and when BM went mainstream, I remember thinking, “the trendsetters will ruin BM, just like they did everything else..” and they did.
A few months after hearing about this thing, I find it has already peaked.
I'm always a day late and a dollar short.
The Hippies weren't the people in Haight Ashbury in 1965. They were the joiners who flooded the streets there in 1967 when it was the thing to do. George Harrison took one look at the human debris on the sidewalk and got off of drugs.
It doesn’t bother me if 61,000 acidheads wander off into the desert.
It bothers me if they come back.
Good thing they’re not trying to hunt, fish, shoot guns or drill for oil. The gov would say NO!
