I did but wasn’t looking to increase phone thickness or add weight.

Exactly.

1. Apple — You have to pay for the apps.
2. Apple’s low end model is the same price as the Galaxy S5. Well, at least it was when we were shopping a year ago.

And I kept my personal Samsung. So I see these two side by side. I think the only way apple seems so astounding is surfing from when it came out. Or people that have never known anything else.

Apple maps sucks. No swipe. etc,,,, quickly the conversation of apples superiority turns to “metal”, and feels nice. Oddly, the only way apple seems to do well is as a telephone. I find it is better of the two to talk on like an old fashioned phone. And it also charges much faster in my experience.

I’m looking at the Samsung Galaxy S5 vs. the LG G3 to replace my old iPhone 4s. I can’t decide between the two. Must have changeable battery and expandable memory, which is why I’m not interested in the Galaxy S6.

FYI: I recently had similar smartphone decision cross road.
Bought and tried iPhone 6 from Verizon.
Absolutely hated it’s limited user functionality, poor battery life, slow data speed.
However, it does take very good pictures (software color balance is unparalleled).
Verizon took it back, and I chose the Samsung S5 after comparing all other phones.

It is a Completely Fantastic smartphone!
2.7 times battery life of iphone.
Apps work perfect, Very fast on WiFi & 4G.
Sound quality, hands free call sound boost, video, notes, copy paste email synch reliability:
OUTSTANDING
Photos: very good.
Preloaded bloat ware wasn’t too bad.
Running fsecure and browsing with Firefox privacy security settings.
Love that it’s nearly waterproof, screen is strong, swap out batteries and memory card.
IMHO, you will Love the Samsung S5
Get it while Samsung still makes it.

Apple still wins for computers, but I like my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Galaxy Note Pro far more than their iPhone and iPad equivalents. There is some very nice music production software written exclusively for iOS, but I do all of that on my Mac, anyway.

If I had a choice in my company-issued phone, I think I’d have a Samsung Galaxy S5.

I KNOW I would have something other than the Apple iphone6 I have been issued.

...if I had a choice.

My Android tablet does anything an iPad can do and more at a mere fraction of the price. And I can create folders, add memory, sideload custom apps, and run flash sites/games if I want to.

I have a LG Optimus Pro 3. I love it. I’ll see ads for new phones hawking some new function then I check my LG to find it already has that function. LG and Samsung have NFC that allows Beaming (placing phones back to back to transfer info with one tap). IPhones do not have this feature.

Good luck with your decision.

I have an Amazon Fire and I love it. There is so much it can do. In fact I am posting here from my Fire smart phone this very minute. Check it out on Amazon. Great screen size.
