"#1. Should we acquiesce and allow the illegal immigration to continue while waiting for the elected officials to address the problem in a substantive way?"

No need to wait.
This is the present course of action, I believe?

"#2. Should we wait for Federal legislators to compromise our security and way of life by resolving the problem in a manner that is politically correct and acceptable to every nation in the world?"

No need to wait.
This is the present course of action, I believe?

"#3. If we continue to send snail mail and email letters to your local and State leaders. Will the roar be ever loud enough to be heard in the highest offices? What will their response be? Submition to illegal immigrants who want to change America forever?"

No need to wait.
This is the present course of action, I believe?

"#4. Should we wait until you fly off the handle and lash out at an illegal alien, surely resulting in legal problems that will further harm your family and ruin your life's ambition to be a good and loyal American citizen?"

No need to wait.
This is the present course of action, I believe?

"#5. Should you ignore the illegal immigration problem and hope it will go away before it gets much worse?"

No need to wait.
This is the present course of action, I believe?

If you think I'm kidding?

...I assure you, I'm not.

Not until it's too late. We've never had a State file bankruptcy, have we?

No, and it going to be interesting to watch.

Yes, I am aware this is the present course of action and that all of them have FAILED miserably. You are also aware of this so how about giving us some new ideas that you believe will correct the problems.

My only hope is that since California has been called the leader, meaning what happens in California eventually happens in all other States, their failure will show the other States that massive illegal immigration will lead to national downfall.

Unfortunately, I don't believe that the politicans will be bright enough to forsee this downfall early enough to stop it.

That is the basis on why I am attempting to roust the FReepers into action. Wish me luck and lots of it.

"Yes, I am aware this is the present course of action and that all of them have FAILED miserably."

Yea, they've all failed miserably, alright.
So you've noticed then they're not changing a damned thing, too.
Sure, you know that.

"You are also aware of this so how about giving us some new ideas that you believe will correct the problems."

I cannot publically post what I think the solution to the problem should be B4.
You know that, also.

The times we're living in, what the bastard politicians -- from both sides -- have permitted to happen whatwith the strange "PC" crap word games & menueverings?
Makes ANY concerned citizen who's dumb enough to state aloud their OPINION a, "traitor," a "Racist," a "Bigot" et al.
One so much as DARES speak out these days & they'll be subject to complete & total destruction so fast it'll make your head *spin*.
Essentially, they've made the very *act* of one protecting themselves, unfeasable.
You know that, too.

Let's just say if we wanted to stop the illegal problem; &, I mean really wanted to stop it?
There'd have to be some serious, radical changes made from within our own elected political leadership, educational institutions & legal system.
None of which is going to ever happen, incidentally.
And though this is something you may not know, I'd bet you sense it, nonetheless.

The nation's in a real, genuine, stinking mess.

...now that's one thing I do know.

What the problems seems always to come down to is getting the mainstream citizen off his butt to vote. There are too many people that don't feel up to it, they're too tired, they think others are going to vote intelligently, yada, yada, yada. Another part of the problem is people that vote for some jerk because of the pork he sends home, or how he looks, or other reasons that make our Founding Fathers whirl in their graves.
Thus we have career politicians who don't want to risk getting booted out of office by losing the Hispanic vote, so they won't do anything meaningful about the illegal alien problem.
This raises the possibility of term limits, does it not? But if we have a capitol full of free riders who won't do anything to risk being turned out, nothing on the face of the earth will get them to vote for term limits.
The truth is we don't need term limits, because the voting process has it built in; yet when we abuse the voting privilege, we get what we deserve, which is what we have now: A bunch of congressional freeloaders who stay in office long enough to develop a huge case of hubris, and continue to work for themselves as opposed to doing what we sent them there to do. The guy that said it best was a talk radio host in Corpus Christi, TX who said, "We don't deserve the congressional representation that we have. It wouldn't matter if we were a penal colony full of rapists, murderers, and child molesters, we STILL wouldn't deserve the congressional representation that we have."
You want to solve the problem? Do what I'm doing: Get out and talk to everyone you know, tell them what is happening, explain the consequences, and get them to vote. Nag hell out of them is that's what it takes, but get them to see the problem. A grass roots approach is the quickest and most effective way to take America back. But it takes time and effort on everyone's part. It goes without saying that if someone you talk to is a flaming socialist liberal, leave him or her alone. Talk to Americans that love America, because it is their negligence that is hurting this country.

This is a good idea...to expose the illegals who are being employed by American business. Expose the wrongdoing, dry up the jobs and the illegal immigration will dry up also.

Many just don't care about what is happening. Not until it affects their wallet and their community and it will.

I know people that have had to move because no one is willing to pay decent wages anymore. Many illegals and transportees can afford to work at cheap prices because they also get welfare and Medicare or medical. Aside from not learning English, letting there kids become little gang bangers and demanding that we give, give give.

They do not meld into our country but attempt to have our country assume there ways. But these people either have not seen it first hand or do not care. When you take your kid to the park and there are plenty of children there and your kid is the only one that speaks English, there is a BIG PROBLEM. If I was in a foreign country it would be fine but in my country I expect people to learn how to speak English.

It's called capitalism, the Law of Supply and Demand.

Yes, but the flaw here is that capitalism has been circumvented by the minimum wage, which destroys the wage supply dynamics and holds them artificially high.

The most effective way to deal with the illegal workers issue is to create a guest-worker program that will satisfy the American employers' needs.

No, the way to deal with this problem is to repeal the socialist minimum wage so that illegals won't be motivated to come for work that isn't worth it.

The big capitalists, the farmers, the construction companies, the middle class people who refuse to mow their lawns are not going to give up their cheap labor.

They won't have to, it will go back to being done by teenagers and the down and out here, the way it always has been. Things will always get done. If you sealed the borders with armed soldiers then the cost of coming here would be too high. Mexico would be forced to change the draconian land ownership laws that are bringing this situation about in the first place.

Ever ask yourself why this nation's nearest neighbor to the south has the problem, when they are sitting on some of the largest gas reserves in the world?

If you check into it you will find that individuals cannot own land, cannot own farms, cannot own those things that would make it possible for them to create their own farms, factories and businesses to get ahead. Only towns, communities and collectives can own land in Mexico. When did you ever hear this, when were you ever told? There is no motivation for Mexico to change as long as they can send their peasants here. That's who all these people are, peasants who cannot legally own land in Mexico. The situation is far more complex than a 'guest-worker' program. It is a level of political corruption that we ignore in Mexico to our own detriment.

The other flaw in the 'guest-worker' thesis is that in California they can get more medical care, more education, more free living expenses, more of everything, than they can in their own country even if they had money. There is no advantage to being part of a guest worker program over just coming here and being an illegal if you don't make some penality for being illegal, like shooting them as the come across the border.

Reality is not the way things should be, but reality it the way things are.

The reality is, if the government doesn't start doing something soon, people are going to start taking things into their own hands. Some already are, as a link I posted shows. The coming meltdown in California is going to be really ugly. That's the reality. And as it does, the rest of the country is going to see the horror and say, 'Not here.'

Waking up depends upon whose sleeping.

It's so unfortunate and such a misguided policy. We are told to love and embrace multiculturalizm, while it significantly lowers our standard of living and quality of life. That is such a disgusting story. Who the heck wants neighbors like that, except for people with similar life-styles. Human torsos floating in rivers. Charming.

I am not saying illegals are perfect, but they do the jobs most of us don't want to do, and they work hard and do them well. From what I have seen, most of our native entry-level workers are apathetic, spoiled and rebellious; Mexicans come to do our work, and don't complain. HORSE HOCKEY!

It's not that these people are coming to America that is the problem, it's the vehement refusal to become Americans, speak English, and become PART of America that is the problem: they want to re-create their little socialist hell-holes, rather than (oh yeah, he's gonna use the word) ASSIMILATE into the culture that has given rise to the single beacon for THE INDIVIDUAL.

As to your aspersions toward our youth, remember that you seldom see 4-H rs in the news, or the Civil Air Patrol, but they are there, and what you see on TV, the paper, and even the internet does NOT reflect the reality of youth today. The reason you see so many "bad apples" is simply because there are more people. Really.

What do you think of this letter I want to send to my representatives?:

(Representative's name)

I am concerned with the problem of illegal immigration in our nation. Over one million American jobs are lost to those who are here illegally and will work for much lower pay than legal domestic workers of the U.S. I am sure many of these same people also do not pay into the tax system and take tax dollars from the Food Stamp program, Medicare, and other social services that cause more problems for the big budget deficit of the U.S. Federal Government. The threat of terrorism also looms with our unsecure and open borders in the United States.

Employers must be held accountable for hiring illegal workers. Laws must be passed and more importantly enforced to support American workers. I am counting on you to support the American people. We need you to help keep our nation healthy, strong and to support these desperately needed changes.

Sincerely,

(Your Name)

Yes I will be sending the letters on a dead trees not by electronic mail. I would like comments on this letter.
