Freeper Help Needed

All: Need some help, please.

Would Freepers Please contribute to a list the topics and opinions which are banned from discussion on the Free Republic.

I am at a loss, as I was of the opinion that the FR was dedicated to what is posted on it's home page:

"Welcome! Free Republic is an online gathering place for independent, grass-roots conservatism on the web. We're working to roll back decades of governmental largesse, to root out political fraud and corruption, and to champion causes which further conservatism in America. And we always have fun doing it. Hoo-yah! "

Apparently discussion of democrats and liberals as racists is banned, and discussions on banning discussions of racism are banned, so no discussions, please.

Obviously you're sore about a post of yours that was pulled. Did you try emailing the Mods for an explanation?

What's the deal?

No, I'm mad about FR turning into a politically correct forum. I'm mad about a previous thread which was pulled, and it was a very well written, well thought out article on how the Democrats were using racism to keep blacks down and turn them into racist democrat voting liberals.

So I posted one, asking why it was banned, and it was pulled too.

Dog - this activist forum is turning into pablum.

And I haven't got the vaguest idea of where this 'back room' is, how to get there, I have never seen it. But apparently it is to hide any criticism of this Forum.

Well, you're in the backroom right now, since the Mods just moved it here.

From your description of the pulled post, I don't see the justification for pulling it, although I'm sure it wasn't done randomly. If you find the answer to your question, be sure to post it.

Post-pulling can be a little flaky around here, but it really doesn't bother me. Of course, maybe that's because I never post articles or vanities (just replies), so I've obviously never gotten one of my OWN pulled (though having a whole thread disappear when you're in the middle of lively discussion is a let down).

The only time I really got annoyed by a post-pulling was when, not only was the topic not anything that had been explicitly prohibited, but the relatively new poster, who had no history of disciplinary problems in the few weeks she'd been at FR, was permanently banned. The post-pulling was no big deal, but the banning was a different matter. I just dealt with it by withholding my donation from that quarter's Freepathon.

Consider yourself lucky. You're still here to wonder out loud about exactly what the rules are.

The "Smokey Backroom" isn't exactly hidden. If you look at the list of forums on the upper right corner of the "Latest Articles" and "Latest Posts" pages, you'll see it, right under "News/Activism", "General Interest", "Religion", and a few others.

here is what I was protesting being pulled, for which my thread was pulled:

Race and the American politics ^

What you are going to read is controversial and it can be offensive for some. The essay below should not be taken at all as racist because that it is not the intent what so ever. It is not a secret that race card is an important factor in American politics. It terrifies the Republicans and energized the Democrats. It is very ironic that it was the Republican Party under Lincoln that abolished slavery and gave blacks their first civil right, the right of freedom. Today it is the Republican Party that is constantly scared of being branded a racist...

Well, it was definitely pulled, and by Jim Robinson himself. It's not at all obvious to me why based on the small excerpt you posted.

I can't defend the decision and I won't try.

We have had some excellent discussions on racial politics on this forum in the past, and I also see far too many threads where racist posts are made without being pulled.

So, I'm stumped as well.

The article went on to say that that the democrats are pushing for all kinds of favoritism for blacks, destroying black families, encouraging illigitimacy, and keeping them voting democrat.

I read the article, thought it was well done, and had written a short comment to that effect, (the first comment in fact) and then it was pulled before I got to post it, so I didn't get to save the article. Then my thread protesting the pulling was pulled too.

I did a news and web search, and I can't find a document by the title Race and the American politics.

This is unfortunate. Race, and especially the Democrat exploitation of it, is a legitimate topic for discussion at this forum. I can't imagine anyone disagreeing with that, not even Jim Robinson on a day when he's feeling grumpy.

you and I are among the few 'old timers' left on FR. Most of the really good discussions are gone, and we are pretty much left with a news forum.

Unfortunately, that's right. This forum used to discuss issues, and now it discusses news. There's nothing wrong with the latter except that it's choked out the former.

My dear friend

I completely agree with you. Why we cannot talk about race? What is so scary about this? We are not insulting anyone but we are just presenting facts. Real conservatives are never afraid to speak their minds. What separates us the real conservatives from liberals is that we can speak the truth without fear and we do not shut up people for not being "politically correct". We must speak the truth no matter how difficult it is. The truth can hurt someone feelings but it is only the truth that will set us free. I usually try to avoid injecting the Bible or Christ when it comes to politics but I just want to mention that when Pontus Pilate was interrogating our Lord, Jesus Christ answered him " To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I shall bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth hearth my voice." Let us bear witness to the truth my friends and let us not be afraid.

Race and Racism

My friends,
Conservatives, by their nature, respect men and women of all races. And of course opinions that insult members of different races can not be tolerated.

But to avoid discussing racial topics would be un-American.

As Hillary Clinton (The greatest purveyor of hatred in the Western world) recently said “Racism is endemic in the Republican party. It would be inappropriate to ever stop informing the American people that Republicans are racists.”

Now to prohibit Republicans from discussing racism and from being able to repudiating the filthy hate speech that Hillary, her Race baiters, and poverty pimps spread would be inappropriate.

Also potentially the most critical political decision to be made this coming decade is whether Americans will provide reparations for African Americans.

These topics have to be discussed. If they can’t be discussed at this forum then they will need to be discussed elsewhere.

But one other point is that there has to be a policy to pull certain threads. If you don’t the boorish and crudest members of a discussion forum take over your sight and drive away all of your sincere participants.

The New York Times has tried to have a discussion web sight. But since liberals lack the moral strength to tolerate free speech, the poor sight turned into nothing but a series of bores discussing their various sexual perversions.

Sincerely,

Pliny
