Why didn't somebody tell me sooner?
Normally I avoid "cutesy" ribbons, but if this one is that clear about the message I better run out and buy a few!
Me too. I think the whole ribbon/bracelet thing is overdone, tacky, and not my style. Sometimes I think it just becomes the trendy "thing to do," and the car ribbons are manufactured more for profit than patriotism or to promote somebody's business. I don't even like flag decals on cars, because I think it cheapens the flag a little. YMMV. But I don't disparage any well-intentioned patriotism behind those expressions.
Also, DUmmies, I don't fit your stereotype of conservatives either, in that I don't care much for the southern, pickup truck, hunting, NASCAR, country-music culture. I'm a city boy from up north, a liturgical Lutheran (not a Baptist), a baseball fan, and working on my third advanced degree. I like going to coffee shops.
OOPS! I am a Christian, so that's what must make me all screwed up. Funny how the DUmmies start talking about "Support Our Troops" ribbons and right away their thread veers into their typical bigoted anti-Christian screed.
LOL! Me neither!
I still have my Bush/Cheney bump and W04 oval on my car, but after reading this hate-drenched issue, I have to get me a yellow and a red white and blue!
And while I'm not very religious, I think I need a Jesus fish too. Triple threat! Triple heart attack!
