Operation Spread the Truth (Response to Democrats and Sheehadists attacks)
Posted on 11/11/2005 3:52:10 PM PST by HHKrepublican_2
Earlier today, President Bush launched his first round of response fire to the Democrats and Anti-War bafoons who have been attacking and trying to take down our commander in cheif, as well as dishonoring and attacking our troops. Fellow FReeper CharlesWayneCT and I had an idea...start a thread that would be reposted daily about "Spreading the Truth"
Within the past few hours, Scott McClellan has released attacks on Kennedy and Kerry. It seems something is brewing and we should help out!
This thread will be a place for FReepers to co-ordinate call ins to radio stations, letters to editors, rallies, and any other way of Spreading the truth pretaning to the run up to and the Iraq War...
Please ping anyone who you know might be interested.
Remember:And our debate at home must also be fair-minded. One of the hallmarks of a free society and what makes our country strong is that our political leaders can discuss their differences openly, even in times of war. When I made the decision to remove Saddam Hussein from power, Congress approved it with strong bipartisan support. I also recognize that some of our fellow citizens and elected officials didn't support the liberation of Iraq. And that is their right, and I respect it. As President and Commander-in-Chief, I accept the responsibilities, and the criticisms, and the consequences that come with such a solemn decision. While it's perfectly legitimate to criticize my decision or the conduct of the war, it is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began. (Applause.) Some Democrats and anti-war critics are now claiming we manipulated the intelligence and misled the American people about why we went to war. These critics are fully aware that a bipartisan Senate investigation found no evidence of political pressure to change the intelligence community's judgments related to Iraq's weapons programs.
They also know that intelligence agencies from around the world agreed with our assessment of Saddam Hussein. They know the United Nations passed more than a dozen resolutions citing his development and possession of weapons of mass destruction. And many of these critics supported my opponent during the last election, who explained his position to support the resolution in the Congress this way: "When I vote to give the President of the United States the authority to use force, if necessary, to disarm Saddam Hussein, it is because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction in his hands is a threat, and a grave threat, to our security." That's why more than a hundred Democrats in the House and the Senate -- who had access to the same intelligence -- voted to support removing Saddam Hussein from power. (Applause.)
The stakes in the global war on terror are too high, and the national interest is too important, for politicians to throw out false charges. (Applause.) These baseless attacks send the wrong signal to our troops and to an enemy that is questioning America's will. As our troops fight a ruthless enemy determined to destroy our way of life, they deserve to know that their elected leaders who voted to send them to war continue to stand behind them. (Applause.) Our troops deserve to know that this support will remain firm when the going gets tough. (Applause.) And our troops deserve to know that whatever our differences in Washington, our will is strong, our nation is united, and we will settle for nothing less than victory. (Applause.) The fifth element of our strategy in the war on terror is to deny the militants future recruits by replacing hatred and resentment with democracy and hope across the broader Middle East. This is difficult, and it's a long-term project, yet there is no alternative to it. Our future and the future of the region are linked. If the broader Middle East is left to grow in bitterness, if countries remain in misery while radicals stir the resentment of millions, then that part of the world will be a source of endless conflict and mounting danger, in our generation and for the next.

What seems to work best are soundbites. Short 1-3 sentences that sum up your message. Saturate your audience with the soundbites. Posters, Screen-savers, Desktops, etc. with words and pictures are extremely effective.
Long dissertations are ignored my the majority of Americans.

MY LETTER TO THE EDITOR
Dear _______________,
Recently, President George W Bush went on the offensive against critics of the Iraq war. He called out anti-war pessimists and Democrats who call for a pull out from Iraq. The task we are facing is one that will test and define our nation. Already anti-war protestors have jumped off the bandwagon, and have begun taking an axe to the wheels.
The troops fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan deserve to know that the politicians who sent them to war stand behind them. By that I mean they do not give them words of praise, or claim they do support them. As the saying goes, action speaks louder than words. For example, the man Democrats wanted to be commander in chief. John F Kerry, John Kerry voted AGAINST sending vital supplies to our troops. Lets get this straight. John Kerry read the same intelligence George W Bush did, and voted to send them to War, and voiced his support as the war was drawing imminent. Kerry voted to send the troops to war, but voted to deny them the supplies they needed. Thank God the senators from Massachusetts are not running our foreign policy. If everything was up to Kerry and Kennedy (along with some help from Senator Clinton) US troops would have been sent in to fight, but with no supplies.
Senator Ted Kennedy demands a time for pullout from Iraq. How can someone be so juvenile, we made this mistake, but on a smaller scale in Afghanistan, and decades later it came back to haunt us on September 11 2001.
Senate Democrats are launching attacks on George W Bush and claim to be anti-war politicians. Since when is someone who voted for war an anti-war politician? Many Senate Democrats have called Ted Kennedy A leader for the Democratic Party
If he is their standard bearer; lets take a look at his stances on Iraq and our troops.
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and developing weapons of mass destruction." (Sen. Ted Kennedy (D-MA), (9/27/02) "Saddam Hussein Is A Dangerous Figure. He's Got Dangerous Weapons. (10/6/02) Now, lets fast forward to 2005, where the Senator does a full 180. "Instead of providing open and honest answers about how we will achieve success in Iraq and allow our troops to begin to come home,' Kennedy said, 'the president reverted to the same manipulation of facts to justify a war we never should have fought."
There is no better way to honor those who have died in Iraq and Afghanistan except to finish what they died so bravely for. To pull out of Iraq now, and to give up now, is only to make their deaths in vain.
Sen Kennedy is supposed to be a leader of the Democratic Party. They lined up behind our country after 9-11 and in the lead up to Iraq, but have abandoned it for political gain. President Bush has stuck by his words, and his promise he made to our country while standing on top of the rubble of the WTC. I can hear you, and pretty soon the entire world will hear us all! No matter his poll numbers, the President continues to support our troops and what is right for our nation. I dont know about Senator Kennedy, but I would much rather have a President who stands up in the face of danger, and stands by his decisions than one who runs away for political gain at the first sight of danger.
God Bless George W Bush and God Bless America.
Sincerely, __________________

We live in a relatively conservative area. Our newspaper has published every letter I submit except one. There are lots of people who don't know the facts as we know them, and they are open minded to the truth.
We need to work harder to ensure it gets out there because sure as shootin', our Republican Congressmen aren't doing it.
