Imagine your child were walking down the street and a strange man grabs her in an attempt to abduct her. Would someone come to here rescue? It appears that at least in New York City, your child would have a slim chance of getting any help.

When my daughter was 4, she was throwing one of her record breaking tantrums (we adopted her at 3 1/2 and she had "issues") and I had to get something at the store. I tossed her into the car seat, drove to the store, put her in a cart out in the parking lot and proceeded into the store. She started yelling to anyone within two blocks that I was not her mother and that I was killing her saying, "help police." I got the whatever it was and went home. Other than a few odd looks, no one said a thing. She's fine now btw, married with a beautiful daughter.
