The leftwing blogosphere is foaming at the mouth tonight! Here is a quick sampling of the wild wroth and venom circulating the fever swamps right now:
Blogger Firedoglake.coms panties are in a twist! Check out her mellifluously-titled post: Does ABC/Disney Movie Include Bush Allowing Osama Bin Laden to Escape from Tora Bora?
she says
"I am as furious as I can ever remember being at the moment. LHP sent me a link this morning to a WaPo article, and I only got about seven paragraphs into it before I had to stand up and walk around the house a while before I could read any more of the article."
The fury-drool whips about unabated at Democratic Underground, where they are calling for a boycott of ABC.

Grig,
They edited it a tiny bit but most the stuff the clintonites were angry about stayed in as far as I can see.

Is anybody watching it? I am at work tonight and could not watch. I am vaguely interested to know if it is as critical of Clinton as all the hubbub suggests.
''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''
The piece is well done and powerful television. It is objectively critical of bureaucratic handling of the response to islam's atrocities against the west. I think the overriding point however, being missed in all the discussions of where blame was placed, is that we have not perceived this threat correctly from the beginning. The agents and officials close to the problem were very aware that this was war with islam since the first trade center bombing. The rest of us were sleeping. The stark contrasts between the middle east location shots and the safe civilized west couldn't be more real. The middle east is the world's back alley. The hatred for western civilization is clearly visible, not just in the terrorists but in the entire region.
This is an important work powerfully done and drives home the monolithic hatred fueling all the islamic attacks against the west. It destroys convincingly the liberal thesis that it's a few mean terrorists who are doing this and that we can end it by catching bin laden adding some homeland security response teams, and giving in to muslim demands. The Path to 9-11 shows that we are truly engaged in WWIII against a ruthless islamic enemy and that ,I believe, is the most important purpose for airing this movie. I won't miss tomorrow nights conclusion, and I` applaud ABC for airing this important piece of work.

take a look at DU right now and you will see what they think without the hassle of the deep freezer. It is pretty amusing. What's great is that most of them report that they didn't even bother to watch the movie, yet they are still outraged. This tells you something about the mentality. Worth a look...

We in OK city and surrounding area got some extra editing.
There was a conspicous degree of 5 minute interruptions (4 total I believe) of tornado warnings for Western OK communities.
I am OK with that except at least one of them was to warn that it was just some thunderstoms. A couple of times it was right at a spot of the film when some bueracrat was on the spot to make a decision.
Has my tin foil hat engaged, particularly since they interrupted to let us know that "there are no tornados" and droned on for a few minutes about rain.
The upside is that the whole thing portrayed fighting terrorism from 1993 to 2000 as almost purely a law enforcement issue, Clinton as completely disengaged, and the higher up the ladder one went, the more cowardly they were.

I just looked at DU's home page and came to an epiphany (that others here have already concluded.....)
....they're(du's) illusions and whatever passes for a conscious thought process are not worth a nanosecond of my time. NEVER AGAIN! Period! When you turn on the light, all you see is their blindfold that covers their death-mask and earplugs (but unfortunately not their foul mouths)

What is funny is, the left adored the 911 commission when it was doing it's farce of an investigation, and this film is mostly taken from it's findings! Thing is, the media dwelt on mistakes of Bush, but the film showed Clinton's actions as well. That is what is such a shock to them.

Exactly, Ladyinred, the Left is not used to seeing their warts in the Movies too, therefore it hurts them more. Alos, they have invested their political future in the meme that BUSH messed everything up in the war on terror. It was ALL BUSH!
Seeing Clinton take blame too REALLY Stings!

The scene that had Clinton saying "I did not have sex with that woman, Miss Lewinsky" was intercut with shots of the
Washington Monument...phallic symbol, get it? Wonder if that was intentional.

If you think that was accidental, I have a great deal on a high-traffic bridge...

No, if it doesn't show Bush at the remote controls flying the planes into the towers himself they will scream about how unrealistic it is.

I Tivo'ed the movie and plan to burn a DVD of it.
There were some editorial choices that I thought lessened the blow on Clinton and his staff, but in general it looks like they are keeping the historical element on key.
One thing that I found lacking, they did not really go into the intel used to bomb the "Aspirin Factory". It might have been interesting to know if there was actually good intel on that, or if Clinton used it without intel as a diversion from the "Perjury and Obstruction" case.
Oh yea..they didn't mention perjury and obstruction so far...they made it sound like it was only about an affair.
In general though, this was good.

OK City..this reminds me...
at one point, they caught Yousef with explosives "The kind they used in the WTC boming in 93" and I thought to myself that it could have been stated "The kind they used in the OKC bombing".
Did they ever find out who that Arab guy was that hung out with Timothy McVeigh?

Yep ...the Dummie moonbats are hysterical.
There are hundreds of threads going crazy over one movie.
Many saying they are going to boycott ABC and Disney forever.
Sure they will.
By the way the 1st half of the film was excellent.
To: Mongeaux
no kidding.. I went to DU to get a feel of the atmosphere.. LOL those people are really mental or they are from another dimension! anything goes in their threads.. anything in the name of Bush bashing.. poor people being Lefty should be classified as a mental disorder.
