I think we have a difference of opinion on what “understanding” means

That’s my position. I can’t speak for RP. I hear the President talk about the war, but it has been waged like “No Win War 3”

National security is very important, but so is individual liberty.

War is kinda like that — hell. A snapshot of the Allies in WW2 at certain points (Phillipines, Wake Island, Battle of the Bulge, many others) would be pretty depressing. “No Win War 2”. But we persevered and God was with us and we pulled it off.
Say, with the success of the surge, it could be like that in Iraq, also. Funny, even the Dems are starting to backpedal a little on the “we’ve lost this war” meme.
The press hasn’t got it all figured out yet, and neither do Dr. Paul and his supporters. They stand to get caught with their pants down when the real good news becomes completely out of phase with their doom and gloom drumbeat.
