Women have worn shorts since the 1950s, and for half a century, this classic item has been a perfect staple of the summer wardrobe. They are easy wearing, look stylish, and save you from the heat.

From Bermuda shorts and knee length denim shorts to structured boxy shorts, there are a number of smart styles choices in different lengths, colors, fabrics, prints, and silhouettes. For those who prefer something feminine, there are dressier styles in fancy fabrics like silk and linen, with details such as cuff hems and tuxedo waistbands.

At least the woman in the 1950’s picture didn’t look like a walking skeleton.

I thought the fashion industry was going to use more realistic (heavier) woman after a couple of the skinny ones keeled over & died last year.

No kidding! I'll take the gal in the older first pic! She's got some meat on her bones. Those other ones look sick. If I dated one of those sticks our first date would be this!

Take those outfits off their clothes hangers and put them on some women... no, wait, those are women and not hangers. Sorry for the understandable confusion.
