Because, my fellow conservatives, we have been BETRAYED by the very people who promised that, if we would just elect them, they would get into office and vote OUR conservative values.

As I think about the election results -- maps, vote tallies, exit polls, state and national results, and much more -- I have to say that, like many of you, I'm in a state of shock.
Not because I'm surprised, mind you -- I warned you that this would happen if the Republican Party nominated John McCain for president.
Yes, I was right... but believe me, that doesn't make me happy. What it makes me... is angry.
• Angry at the Democrats,
• Angry at the "moderate" (meaning liberal) Rockefeller-wing of the Republican Party, who tried to kill the idea of grassroots involvement of hardworking, patriotic, conservative Americans in our party.
• Angry with President Bush because he was unwilling to stop Republican Congressional leaders from overspending.
• Angry at the so-called "leaders" of our party, who promised us that if we'd just vote for who they put up for election, we'd finally get what we wanted: smaller government, lower taxes, dramatically lower spending, pro-life laws, pro-marriage constitutional amendments, pro-American economics... well, YOU AND I put them in power, and they gave us nothing but BIG GOVERNMENT, BIG DEFICITS, and LIBERAL COMPROMISES.
But we CAN resurrect it -- IF we start TODAY to take action, by both booting out our failed fake-conservative "leadership" AND vowing to FIGHT tooth and nail against the coming tidal wave of destructive, anti-American legislation that's now heading our way... thanks to Obama, Pelosi and Reid.

As bad as the election results were, I believe there IS "light at the end of the tunnel" -- I believe we now have the opportunity to finally turn out these fake "leaders" that have betrayed conservatism and given us Barack Obama. We have the opportunity to bring back the Reagan wing of the Republican Party, to slow down the socialist legislation from Pelosi and Reid, and to restore this great Republic to its original ideals of basic self-evident truths: our right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

• EXPOSE LIBERAL CORRUPTION -- With the Democrats back in power in both Congress and the White House, you KNOW that they'll be falling right back into their habits of taking lobbyists' money under the table, trading votes for campaign contributions, spying on and sabotaging Republican legislative plans, covering up their leaders' sexual "flings," and spending taxpayer money on personal expenses like never before. Tim Walberg was probably among the staunchest conservatives in congress. Anti amnesty, pro life, pro drilling, firm vote against the bailout, Founding member of Michigan’s “NO caucus” (Anti tax raiser).
My question is where do we find a true Conservative Republican representative these days. I am and was totally disgusted with McCain. I do not want to further the careers of RINO’s for their shot at the House GOP leadership chair.
My other question is: How many Conservatives is there on FR these days? IMO all the Bush Bots are so far to the left they might as well join the UN. McCain lovers can go with them. Who is left? More than a handful of us?

We should rebuild the grassroots conservative movement. From the Reagan Revolution of 1980 through the Contract with America in 1994, it was this movement from outside Washington that carried us to the first center-right majority governing coalition in more than 60 years. The problem has not been with conservatism or with our voters.

The fight between Boner and Cole goes back quite a ways.
The fact that Cole remained even after threatening to quit a year ago just shows Boner’s complete lack of leadership.
Everything Boner has done has highlighted incompetence.
He didn’t keep Republicans in-line on earmarks, spending, or ethics.
In fact, he has done everything he could to signal to his members and the voters that he was soft on all of these.
He opposed an earmark moratorium, he supported the bailout and sent his leadership team out to round up as many votes for it as he could. And he defended Bob Ney’s corruption.
This is not the leader the GOP needed then, and he is not the leader they need now.
He provided no message, no direction, no principles, nothing to run on at all. It is way past time for some new blood at the helm.

I’m wondering about the same thing. Maybe it is time for the conservatives to start a truly Conservative Party and let the GOP go the way of all political parties eventually. The country club, RINO’s are NOT going to allow there to ever be another conservative candidate on the ticket. So, let them have their own little country club party. As Rush has said, when conservatism runs, it wins every time. We’ve seen how well McCain’s liberal milquetoast habits have worked. His “frends” in the Congress would give him the shiv in a NY minute.
Since you didn’t sign off please tell us what your opinion is of the outfit? I presume you find them worthy?
Maybe a FReeper could become a Republican Party leader. Perhaps Jim Robinson or his son.
I'd like to see someone such as "Doughty One" "Congressman Billybob" or a number of other terrific thinking contributers here take the helm or at least some position.
I will admit that those several surveys sent out by the Republican Party to my home had a better chance of being responded to by the local trash men than they did from me.

This organization is a start. To be successful they will need hundreds of like minded organizations behind them.

I love Gov. Jindal...have, continue and will support him 100%, but he couldn’t rustle up enough support in the state this past election to oust that corrupt skank Landrieu from the senate....we tried but just too many on the govt. teat in New Orleans.
