All the jobs lost meant less money to spend, less money for homes and consumer goods.That was my mantra to the many politicians and CEOs in regards to NAFTA and other "Free Trade" swindles. "You're laying off each others' customers, so who will buy your products?" I'd get dead silence or a condescending "Free Trade is good" line of b/s.

Not really. Jobs weren’t outsourced — services began to get traded. This problem was caused due to cheap loans being given to people who couldn’t ever afford to repay them back. And this escalated through a whole bunch of other issues and is now going to end when the credit card industry blows up — think of it, the average American has 0 savings and a large credit card debt. That shows the credit card generation is spending the future.
