Obama President for the next 40 years? Oh, he|| no!.

Posted on 01/16/2009 7:34:06 PM PST by jetxnet

Bill # H.J.RES.5 'Proposing an amendment to the Constitution of the United States to repeal the twenty-second article of amendment, thereby removing the limitation on the number of terms an individual may serve as President.

Latest Details: http://www.ifusionsoft.com/content/blogs/00000050.asp

A 150 million$ Inaguartion party and now a proposal by the Democrats to ammend the Constitution in making this fraud the President for life??

Have these libtards lost their minds?? I wouldn't even want a conservative President to be Prez for life, no matter how good he was. There is a reason there are term limits.

The reason first and foremost is to prevent Dictatorships!!

I don’t THINK so. There won’t be any nation to rule by then.

I would honestly love it if this passed but Obama was so awful, a conservative Republican won 2012 and ended up having multiple terms.

That would be so delicious.

But no, I’m a fan of the 22nd.

Perish the thought! Who wants to become just another 3rd world African nation where all are ruled by petty dictators who think of themselves as gods. Again, perish the thought.

IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES

Mr. SERRANO introduced the following joint resolution; which was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary

My previous post did not state that it was this Commie who introduced it in the House.

I read another FReeper saying this was introduced over and over again, at every session. So, it’s really nothing new, and it won’t go anywhere, anyway.

Besides that, it takes 3/4 of the states to ratify a Constitutional Amendment. If you take the number of states that voted for the Republican ticket and then see how many other states are left — I don’t think you have 3/4 of the states needed to pass such a Constitutional Amendment...

He is a Puerto Rican Commie—

Serrano was born in Mayagüez, Puerto Rico. At the age of seven, Serrano was taken by his family to The Bronx. Serrano went to high school and then Lehman College for his undergraduate degree. He served in the United States Army medical corps from 1964 to 1966.

You are correct, but it is still infuriating to see their gaul.

Thanks, that would explain the “audacity” of such BS.

Of course — absolutely not — the Electoral College system should not be undone. If the smaller states realize what will happen to their vote and how it won’t count any longer, then they certainly won’t be for it.

In addition, if you went that way — all a Candidate would have to do is campaign in about ten locations in the United States — all in the top 10 major metro areas and he would pretty much carry the election. There would be no reason to campaign in the smaller states. And the Federal level of government would exclusively represent about 10 largest metro areas and none of the rest of the country.

People should be aware of that. The founding fathers were right in setting up the Electoral College for electing the President.

The dirty secret of most liberals is that they LIKE the idea of a dictator, the "benevolent" kind, as if there ever could be such a thing.

They believe in solid, stable, all-encompassing government run by the "right" people, who "know better" than the "little people."

I wish I were kidding, but they see nothing wrong with Obama at all and would have no problem with this clean, articulate person being in charge. Of course, they know he'd be a figurehead and THEY would be calling the shots from behind the scenes--the party committee or board (they LOVE boards and committees).

I hear ya, but this is a bit alarming.

Never have we had such a one-sided system in history until now - the Dems have both Congress and Senate .. dam-near full-proof to pass through whatever the heck they like.

Not good, people should be very aware of our civil liberties and in getting them taken.

Also, Venezuela just scrapped presidential term limits for Chavez back in November. Further proof of socialism trying to take root in this country.

Yeah, it’s definitely a time to be extremely vigilant, and we should be aware of every move like this, whatever the Democrats are trying to pull...
