My in-laws are slaves to the MSM they get all of their information from NBC and CNN. They are amazed when I challenge almost everything that is said and I back my words with facts. I am trying to salvage them but it has been difficult.

Boy, I hope you get an answer. This has been bothering me for years but evidently not enough to look it up. Maybe I'll get it served up on a platter now by some learned and charitable FReeper.

It’s simple. There’s only room for one “bust” in the Oval Office.

Don't insult Neville Chamberlain. He had the sense to learn from him mistakes. Less than one year after Munich, Hitler invaded Poland and Chamberlain declared war. When France fell and it became clear he wasn't up to the task of governing during a war, be had the decency to resign to Churchill could do so. Six month later, he was dead.

If Oba Mao could only show a fraction of Chamberlain's class and decency . . .

The word usage and grammar in both the printed media as well as online media these days is beyond my comprehension. Not to mention the spoken word...

The gesture says it all and is a true slap in the face to the Brits. That said, after seeing a photo of it, I'm not sure I'd want it on proud display personally. It looks more like a death mask of Churchill beheaded. I would much prefer a good photo.

“The bust of Churchill only served to remind Hussein of his own incompetence.”

-Actually, the bust of Churchill only served to remind him of his true Britishness.

Fuhrer Obama had to make room for his bust of Che Guevera.

Churchill was the greatest Prime Minister England ever had (followed by Thatcher). Fuhrer Obama isn’t worthy of being in the same room as this statue.

What would a janitorial reject street agitator do with a bust of Churchill?

Churchill is one of the most revered leaders in the Commonwealth, we have many statues of him up here in Canada. Disgusting.

Socialism is socialism, but Churchill was never the less a real man and a real leader, Hussein is neither.

"Bust of Churchill Returned by Obama
"Diplomatically this is a faux pax that only an unseasoned politician could make.
The British have stood by our side as strong allies for decades and we need to maintain that relationship,
especially in a world that is becoming increasingly dangerous (See Is Nuclear Weakness on the Horizon)
If he did not want to look at it in the oval office he could have displayed it elsewhere in the White House
and not slapped the British in the face in such a blatant disregard of political etiquette."

No wonder Obama got rid of Churchill's bust as soon as he heard the speech delivered by Winston Churchill on March 5, 2009 at Westminster College in Fulton Missouri:

From Washington on the Atlantic to San Francisco on the Pacific an iron curtain has descended across the Continent. Behind that line lie all the capitals of the ancient states of middle America. All these famous cities and the populations around them lie in what I must call the Obama sphere, and all are subject, in one form or another, not only to Soviet influence but to a very high and in some cases increasing measure of control from Chicago.

In a great number of states, far from the Illinois frontier and throughout the country, Communist fifth columns are established and work in complete unity and absolute obedience to the directions they receive from the Communist center. The Communist parties or fifth columns constitute a growing challenge and peril to Christian civilization.

It is because I am sure that our fortunes are still in our own hands and that we hold the power to save the future, that I feel the duty to speak out now that I have the occasion and the opportunity to do so.

What they desire is the fruits of war and the indefinite expansion of their power and doctrines.

. From what I have seen of Obama and his henchmen, I am convinced that there is nothing they admire so much as strength, and there is nothing for which they have less respect than for weakness, especially military weakness.

Last time I saw it all coming and I cried aloud to my own fellow countrymen and to the world, but no one paid any attention. Up till the year 1933 or even 1935, Germany might have been saved from the awful fate which has overtaken her and we might all have been spared the miseries Hitler let loose upon mankind.

There never was a war in history easier to prevent by timely action than the one which has desolated such great areas of the globe. It could have been prevented, in my belief, without the firing of a single shot, and Germany might be powerful, prosperous and honored today; but no one would listen and one by one we were all sucked into the awful whirlpool.

We must not let it happen again.

If the population of the English-speaking Commonwealth be added to that of the United States, with all that such cooperation implies in the air, on the sea, all over the globe, and in science and in industry, and in moral force, there will be no quivering, precarious balance of power to offer its temptation to ambition or adventure. On the contrary there will be an overwhelming assurance of security.

Winston Churchill - March 5, 2009

I thought that was an interesting question so I looked it up.

http://www.dailywritingtips.com/loan-lend-loaned-lent/

The word lent is the past tense of the verb to lend. For example:
• I lent you my bicycle last week. Why haven’t you given it back yet?
• When I lent you my book, you promised not to write in it.
• No-one lent a hand with my suitcase.
(If you’re used to British English, be careful not to confuse this with leant, the past tense of the verb to lean, which is pronounced in the same way. If you’re American, you’ll probably use “leaned”, but British English uses “leant” and this can cause a lot of confusion.)
The word loaned is the past tense of the verb to loan. For example:
• He loaned me a thousand pounds to start my business.
• If you had loaned me the money when I asked for it, I’d have succeeded.
• When I loaned him my tractor, I had no idea what he was going to do with it.

So put it in a differnt lcation in the White House. Dare to expect the President to put the good of the Nation before his personal feelings.
