Okay...I don’t understand how they “mark” your door....is it something which can be removed....or is it a “placemarker” on their electronic gizmo? Or what?

It is not a physical mark on your door it is a registration on the GPS handset that is the latitude,logitude,altitude above sea level of your address. This info is then down loaded into a data base that is govt. controlled.

I do geocaching and usually a marker is something on the GPS unit. You might mark your trail so as to be able to find the way back to your car.

Through a hand-held computer that has a GPS included with it. It records the exact location of where the census worker is standing on your property. No "marker" is left at your home.
