Rush Limbaugh to MSNBC - Challenge

Today Rush on the Rush Limbaugh radio program made a direct challenge to the folks at MSNBC. The Challenge: No more Rush stories for 30 days. Rush is suggesting that the rather weak cable news network is trying to build ratings off his back.

Rush says - no more stories or videos for 30 days and let’s see how your ratings do. You can check out Rush’s exact transcript here: http://www.rushlimbaugh.com/home/daily/site_051909/content/01125112.guest.html

This story does bring up an interesting thought: Do Cable News Networks choose news stories, talking points, and video clips motivated primarily by the anticipated “ratings-grab” instead of news worthiness.

Well think about this:

- If Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohen were ugly, would their DUI’s make news? - Would the Miss. California issue have been such a big deal if the networks didn’t have video tape to play of the attractive woman? - If images of Anna Nicole Smith didn’t keep you from turning the channel - would the networks be covering the story for weeks?

MSNBC's pitiful ratings would drop 50% if they stopped parasitising on Rush. They use Rush every 5 minutes.

I don’t know anymore. Is Notre Dame still Catholic? Is the Catholic Church still Catholic?

Rush is now the titular head of MSLSD. Until he speaks they have no programming for the day.
