Obama’s racist, liberal Sotomayor, God help us

The playbook is being laid out for all to see and yet I predict that there will be not outrage at the political calculation and malicious exclusion of the conservatives by a president who promised “a new spirit of bipartisanship”.

If Republicans bend over and allow themselves to be raped by the process than they get exactly what they deserve. They will do well to remember that we are watching closely; we are keeping score and they will be held accountable to the voters.

Republicans have a chance to draw a clear contrast on an ideological basis. The liberals will most certainly fight hard for their principles the only question unanswered is whether conservatives will have an advocate in the process.

This assumes that there are conservatives in positions of power, or at least those with a moral-backbone; given that the mere suggestion of the retroactive 90% tax on AIG bonuses that was not struck-down with its proponents being recalled is a woeful sign considering that the idea is DEFINITELY contra-constitutional on four counts, and possibly an additional four.

Definites:
1) No ex post facto law.
2) No bill of attainder.
3) Due process & equal protection under law.
4) No deprivation of property w/o due process of law.

Indefinites:
5) No forced civil-suit >$20 w/o trial-by-jury option.
6) Amendment 5: Answering for “capital or otherwise infamous crime” and Grand Jury interaction. [Criminal suit]
7) Amendment 4: Security from seizures. (Money IS property!)
8) Amendment 6: “to have compulsory process for obtaining witnesses in his favor”. [in criminal prosecutions]

Yes, they will. And yes, they will.

That is why I have not been republican for at least three years. Although I did vote for Palin and the old guy.

The republican party is trying to fight the democrats at their own game. They cannot win, for they are not nearly as good at it. Until the Republican party returns to it’s “conservative” roots it will flounder and may actually be replaced by a “conservative” party.

How about the “personal responsibility” party?

Let’s keep one thing in mind. We brought this on ourselves by splintering during the ‘08 campaign and not supporting the lesser of two evils in McCain as fervently as we should have.

This is the exact kind of garbage appointment that is expected from a far-left President.

As this President’s “spiritual mentor” once said, “the chickens have come home to roost.”

Fight for ‘10 and ‘12. That’s our only hope.

Watch the GOP roll over for this horrible nominee.

There will be no fight.

The O pick for the court: he chose a hispanic and a woman, that covers 2 minority classes(in the case of woman not so much a minority as an under-represented class on the court). O’s way of chosing a nominee was racist as well as sexist.

I noticed all of his potential picks were women. What? Not one white male in the country was qualified? O chose this person because she is a racial minority and a woman. That is racist and sexist.

To treat someone differently, whether that is different in a good way or bad way, is racist. We should treat all human beings the same, letting their inner selves be what we value. The person who had the best ability to serve on the court was the one to be chosen, not a person of the race he was looking for or the gender he was looking for to make a political point.

Yes, our fake president is a racist. Many who voted for him were racist, since they voted for him because of his outward appearance, and not the content of his character which is evil as hell.

How many O voters know he voted 3 times against the Infants Born Alive Act? Not many, maybe the evil lefties knew, but not any person who goes to church and calls themselves Christian. No, those dolts are blissfully unaware of O’s pro-death beliefs.

Bottom line, O’s choice for SCOTUS nominee is a racist sexist choice. And he will be hailed for it by most of the dupes in the country.

I agree and the majority of people don’t know nor do they care what the SCOTUS is all about or what qualifies a person to a lifetime appointment to it.

We must hope that this will be his only appointee while he has such power and that we can change the make up of Congress before he gets another.

I sadly believe that we couldn’t have done anything to stop this guy. Too much was going too wrong at the same time and the media created the scenario it needed to convince voters that he was the savior and the only hope for this nation.

Oh I agree on that. The DNC’s propaganda wing, aka the lame-stream press, hyped things favorable to 0bama to ensure his coronation.

My gut says that we’re stuck with him until 2016 because the economy should rebound by 2012. I hope I am wrong.

A day is an eternity in politics and none of us know what is going to happen. Remember Who ultimately is in control.

Barry will have his day in the sun but he will also have his reckoning. You can count on it.

Yea, it’s going to be a long 8 years, but I think back to Clinton and hope that the same plays out over the next few years. Without the legislative branch, Obama will only have limited capacity to do what he wants. I take consolation in the fact that though his personal numbers remain high, that popularity hasn’t affected the poor numbers for Congress.

Republicans need to remind the American voters that Clinton had a Republican Congress and that the nineties was a good decade for the US under that reality and convince them that this is the best way to get things done that are beneficial to individuals and the country as a whole.

I would like to know where people are getting the idea that she is liberal in her decisions. I have yet to see evidence of a majority (or even a handful) of her opinions being liberal positions. I have gone through many, especially the Ricci v. DeStefano case, and cannot really find anything liberal about her. She may vote straight ticket democrat but it doesn’t show in her opinions.

Even the ultra-liberal and Constitutional Professor Jonathan Turley says he has reviewed 30 of her decisions in depth so far and he sees nothing but a centrist at best...and an intellectual lightweight one at that.

Remember, just because an ultra-liberal President appoints a judge, it does not make the appointee an ultra-liberal. Remember GHW 1990 and Souter anyone?

And regarding Ricci v. DeStefano where the firefighters sued, I actually read the case and opinion of the majority justices on that bench and they really could not even offer an opinion. Both Hayden v. County of Nassau, 180 F.3d 42 (2d Cir. 1999) and Bushey v. N.Y. State Civil Serv. Comm’n, 733 F.2d 220 (2d Cir. 1984) completely tied their hands. They had no option but to deny the claims of the firefighters as precedence had been established and in the legal world, a precedent = judicial handcuffs.
