Sonia Sotomayor is the very antithesis of what Dr. King lived and fought for. Dr. King fought for a color blind society one which character and ability would be the prerequisites of accomplishments for all Americans. It is because of Dr. King and people like him that a Sonia Sotomayor had the opportunity to succeed.

Yet in spite of Dr. King’s dream Barack Hussien Obama has presented Judge Sonia Sotomayor based on her Race and her gender.

A good point, that many won’t assimilate or understand...MLK wanted to blend in to an AMERICAN society, and not form an Afro American, section, thumbing their noses at the other hyphenated Americans that they were not the Alpha D...Dog in the pack.

The affirmative action President, nominating an affirmative action candidate, who makes affirmative action rulings.

I always hated the PC term "affirmative action" since it hides the fact that it is blatant racism.

I’m not sure Dr King wouldn’t vote for her... as these various crusaders have gotten older, Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc., have all tended to turn further and further left. I think they do it to give the appearance of leadership. And I think dr King would have begun to find himself standing alone, and with fewer people listening to his speeches. Eventually, he’d have to shift further left to get more people in his corner. I could be wrong, but I suspect I am not.

The current black leadership would rely on Dr. King’s opinion. He would look at her support for abortion and say, “She has one of the blackest souls I have ever seen.” And they would say, “Yep. She may be Hispanic but see, she has a black soul! So she get’s our support.”

It’s irrelevant what MLK — or anyone else not in the U.S. Senate — would do or would have done. This Senate will approve Sotomayer. Sotomayer will be on the USSC, no matter what her competence or fitness for the position might or might not be. A liberal will replace a liberal. The votes are not there to reject her. Elections have consequences.

King would have voted for her. The left has advanced incrementally over the past few decades. As a result, leftists who passed away forty years ago seem “conservative” today. But had they lived, they would be just as loony as Obama and Sotomayor today.

Had Ted Kennedy died in 1972, people would be saying he wouldn't support Sotomayor if he were alive today because a devout Catholic like him couldn't possibly vote for a pro-abortion or pro-homosexual agenda nominee. Remember that as late as 1971 Kennedy was opposed to legal abortion and had never endorsed any type of “gay rights” legislation. But that wasn't because he wasn't capable of being a pro-abort or a homosexuality supporter. It was just that liberalism hadn't deteriorated that far yet.

King would absolutely support Sotomayor. His support for a race blind society was the standard liberal position in his day. They had to first create a race blind white populace to allow the race obsessed non-whites to run all over them. That was the goal all along.

king would not have liked obama either. oblaba has no character or integrity and wants to be advanced simply because of the color of his skin. dr. king wanted a color blind society. oblabo wants color to be the most important aspect of society.
