The Compelling Life Story… of Alberto Gonzalez
Annuit Coeptis ^ | 05/28/09 | Blaine Fallis

Imagine it of you will: a Hispanic, Supreme Court hopeful, with humble beginnings. With a father, a poor laborer who passed away while this person was still young, and with only the support of a mother this person persevered to receive the highest educational honors (a J.D. from a top Ivy League school), and appointments to high office from a U.S. President. It’s compelling, isn’t it, the life story of Alberto Gonzalez?

But in Sonia Sotomayor the left finally has an actual compelling life story. A Hispanic Supreme Court hopeful from humble beginnings, whose father dies young, but was raised by a single mother, and somehow managed to push through to receive high educational honors at an Ivy League school. Wow. Unprecedented, isn’t it?

Only the compelling life stories of liberals are told...everyone elses is hidden away and never told.

I’d have been about as happy with Gonzalez as I would with Sotomayor, i.e. not. They’re both statists that never saw a government power they didn’t like.

What I want is three more Clarence Thomas clones.

Gonzales spent 100 times the effort hunting down online pornography as he did hunting down illegal aliens. He was a disgrace.

Liberal hypocrisy is so obvious that there is no denying it. When Clarence Thomas was nominated, nothing was said about “Black supreme court justice.” When Condi Rice was becoming well known and mentioned as a presidential candidate, no one said “First black woman president.” When Alan Keyes ran for president, no one said “first black president.”

The excitement and the hype are reserved only for those who promise to uphold abortion and other leftist causes.

Zackly. I had some weenie accuse me of being a racist cause I thought Obama was a sheethead. I informed him in semi polite terms that I could think of five black guys offhand I would’ve rather had than McCain. That it was O’s values and beliefs I didn’t like, and that even if he WAS black I was still allowed to consider those and even disapprove of them.

It isn’t because he’s black, it’s because he’s red.

I like that! It’s WAY more succinct than my way.

Just goes to show that the Rats don’t have the monopoly on identity politics.

Yes they do, because the media only reports the "heartwarming story of a rise from humble roots" for Democrats.
